School is back—and so are the busy mornings, packed schedules, homework, activities and all the emotions that come with it.

Next Saturday, bring your kiddo and join us at Green Street Market for Big & Little Breathwork.

We’ll explore simple breathing tools kids can use when school feels stressful or overwhelming, while giving you a chance to slow down and experience the power of breath together.

It’s part nervous system reset, part quality time—and a chance to give your kids tools they can actually carry with them into the school year.

Come breathe, connect and have a little fun with us.

Who are you bringing?

There’s something about the sound of the music and the breath in this space…

Last night’s the tea, the music, the essential oils and the breath came together for an incredible Blue Moon Breathwork & Blue Lotus Ceremony.

It was unforgettable! The best part is going to be hearing from those who attended over the next few days as they share the awarenesses they are integrating.

I’m here for it. All of it. Twice a week at the former homebase of Megan’s Yoga Tribe ’s location in DTLS.

It’s hard to notice how beautiful your life is when your nervous system is trying to protect you from danger.

The freeze response gets a bad rap. It’s our most misunderstood survival strategy. It’s incredibly beneficial but blamed for many of our problems.

When threat is everywhere and you can’t protect yourself from danger, the nervous system hits the brakes. Movement, emotion, sensation, motivation, connection and awareness all become dull as a way of helping you endure what feels overwhelming. You can’t be hurt by something you aren’t aware of.

So you check out and disappear.

In the moment, that response can be incredibly protective.

The problem is when your body learns to stay there.

It learns that the only way to stay safe is to be anywhere but here.

Chronic freeze looks like:

Going through the motions.

Knowing you should be excited, but not really feeling anything.

Sitting on the couch knowing you to do something, but feeling like it’s impossible to get moving.

Feeling disconnected from people you love. From everything.

Watching months or years pass and wondering where the time went.

You know that there are beautiful things happening around you and knowing intellectually you should appreciate them... but somehow you can’t trust it. So you hold back.

You may not even feel particularly stressed.

You may just feel flat.

Unmotivated.

Disconnected.

Tired.

Stuck.

Because when the nervous system is protecting you through shutdown, it isn’t prioritizing wonder, curiosity, creativity, pleasure or connection.

It’s prioritizing survival.

And you cannot always think your way out of a response that is happening in the body.

This is where breathwork and somatic work can be incredibly powerful.

They give us ways to work with the nervous system directly. To bring awareness back into the body. To gently increase our capacity to feel sensation, emotion, movement and connection again. To gently support the nervous system from freeze into fight or flight and rest and digest.

Not by forcing ourselves to “snap out of it.”

But by helping the body recognize that it no longer has to stay frozen to keep us safe.

And little by little, life begins to change.

You notice the sunlight coming through the trees.

Colors are brighter.

You laugh harder.

Music hits differently.

You want to go somewhere.

You feel excited about trying new things again.

Life didn’t necessarily become more beautiful.

You became available to experience it.

Breathwork and somatic work aren’t about forcing yourself to become more positive.

They’re about helping your nervous system become unstuck so you can actually participate in your life again.

Because you weren’t meant to spend your life watching it pass by.

You were meant to be here for it.

The new moon marks a fresh start — a blank slate that invites clarity about where you are and where you’re headed. Each month, this session combines breathwork, meditation, and ceremony to help you release distractions, quiet the mind, and open to new possibilities.

Through intentional breathing patterns, you’ll drop into stillness and heightened awareness, connecting with what your soul is truly calling for. This practice is a chance to reset, plant new intentions, and move forward with hope and alignment.

Come breathe with us!

People have lots of misconceptions about what regulation looks like…but it doesn’t always look like you’d expect.

When the body is in an activated fight or flight state, sitting on a cushion and meditating or relaxing at all is really challenging or near impossible.

When we go into fight or flight the body creates the energy it needs to run or fight. When there’s nothing to run from or fight, that energy gets stuck in the body and many people experience that energy as anxiety.

Shaking is one of the ways that the body discharges the energy of the fight or flight state. So the next time you feel like there’s so much energy bubbling up in you that you could boil over, instead of trying to suppress that energy, let it move!

Notice that leg bouncing around? Let it go! Encourage it to really move shake and wiggle for 30-45 seconds. Be a little weird and wait for the magic to happen.

This was filmed on accident. I was recording some content and felt a charge of anxious energy.

Can you see that moment in the body where the energy is discharged and my shoulders fall? That’s my body resetting.

Notice when that happens for you and THEN notice how your breath has shifted and sit with that. Notice how much more palatable the energy feel and how empowered you are!

Slow Flow Breathwork is a gentle yet powerful practice that calms the stress response and restores balance to the body and mind. Guided by beautiful music and slow steady breathing patterns, you’ll move into a parasympathetic state — the body’s natural rest-and-digest mode. As the breath slows, thoughts still, anxiety softens, the mind grows quiet, and you feel safe. Experience a profound sense of peace, release of muscle tension and stored emotions.

Slow Flow Breathwork is great for people new to their healing journey, those who are grieving or are carrying unprocessed emotions. Slow Flow is a nurturing path into deep meditation, stress relief, and the quiet clarity that comes from fully arriving in the present moment.

You are invited to go on a journey into yourself using plant medicine and breathwork in our Breathwork & Plant Medicine Series.

In our second session of the series we will incorporate Blue Lotus into our ceremony in three ways. When you arrive you'll notice the beautiful scene of blue lotus and rose. You'll be anointed with Blue Lotus oil made by hand in Egypt and be invited to enjoy a cup of Blue Lotus tea to open your mind and enhance your breathwork journey.

Stephanie will use a combination of fast and slow breathing to meet the needs of those in attendance based on how they are feeling the day of the ceremony.
Set against a backdrop of healing music from around the world, this session is a sacred invitation to let go and surrender. The Blue Lotus, music and breath work together, ushering you into a deep meditation.

Blue Lotus tea creates a gentle shift in awareness—calming without sedation, lightly euphoric, and often described as dreamlike, heart-opening, and physically relaxing. It’s especially known for enhancing visualization and inner imagery, making experiences feel more vivid and immersive while supporting intuitive insight and a deeper connection to the subconscious.

Rather than forcing anything open, it lowers the barrier between conscious awareness and the inner world. You may notice a softening in the body, particularly in the chest and jaw, which makes it easier to stay present with sensation and emotion. It tends to take the edge off mental resistance without dulling awareness.
