🚨 This Thursday! 🚨

Supporting youth after trauma requires looking beyond a single moment or system and understanding the full experience of the child and their family over time. In this upcoming session, we’ll explore what happens from initial report through referral to a Child Advocacy Center, and how those early processes can shape a youth’s mental health in the days and weeks following trauma exposure.

We’ll also dig into how individual, family, and community factors influence recovery—and what protective factors can help reduce the risk of longer-term challenges like PTSD.

This is real-world, case-based, and immediately applicable for anyone working with youth across settings.

About This Session:
Supporting youth after trauma (e.g., maltreatment, exposure to violence or other crimes) means looking beyond a single moment or system — it means seeing and supporting the whole child and their family over time. In this session, participants will explore what the processes and procedures look like for youth and their families who are referred to a child advocacy center as part of initial investigations of trauma exposure like child abuse or violence in the home. Participants will also learn about how the characteristics and experiences of the youth, their family, and the community may impact a youth’s mental health challenges in the initial days and weeks after traumatic events.

Rural kids deserve great healthcare — and school-based Community Health Workers (SB-CHWs) are making that happen across Kansas and Missouri.

Telehealth ROCKS is measuring the real-world impact of our SB-CHW program, and your voice matters. We're asking community members, educators, and families to take a brief 5-10 minute survey by May 22nd.

Every response helps make the case to state and federal policymakers for sustaining and expanding this program.
