Mental health issues are the result of human beings expected to exist within environments that are dysfunctional or abnormal. We’ve been conditioned to believe that dysfunctional family dynamics, dysfunctional work dynamics, + dysfunctional political systems are just ‘how it is.’ If a person is sick or can’t cope then we diagnose them as disordered. We tell people their sickness is a result of their own “chemical imbalance.” (Of course our entire bodies have imbalances!)

Some therapists even downplay, invalidate, or downright dismiss childhood trauma. (And yes, disconnecting from your true self to fit into an unwell society *is* a trauma.) Not understanding the forever impact on the child’s psyche, their sense of sense worth, their ability to emotionally educate, + the way they’ll relate to the world. Not understanding that their nervous system will be hyper vigilant— consistently sensing threats in the environment. Not understanding this puts them at an incredibly high risk of addiction in a desperate attempt to self soothe. We have yet to understand addiction itself is a symptom.

This will just be labeled as panic disorder, or depression. Or, possibility a “personality disorder.” Instead of what they are: adaptations to unsafe environments.

We need a revolutionary shift in the way we view mental health. As people get more + more sick we continue to search for bandaids so that people can get just “ok” enough to return to work or life as they know it— when that’s the issue. Life as we know it is making us sick. And until we face this we will just have more + more sick people.

We need to start waking up. To start asking people “what happened to you at the most impressionable time in your life?” We need to start affirming that what is normal in our society isn’t ok. Our bodies are gifting us with wisdom when we develop mental disorders, autoimmune issues, & other illness. We’ve had enough. The answer isn’t to push through. It’s to re-evaluate. To listen to people’s stories (rather than invalidating them) & to understand that humans are struggling for valid reasons that we shouldn’t be pathologizing

The mayor of .for.service ! Claire made joining FFS so easy. It was scary to meet 150+ badasses and connecting online felt clunky at first. Claire was right there, helping everyone feel seen and welcome.

I’m so grateful to know such a powerful, badass, down-to-earth medicine woman!
I met Celeste in Fit For Service and reached out to her outside of our summit because there was something about her.

She helped me feel super comfortable about expressing my desire to identity as a *xpositive woman. I cherish all of our conversations.

She introduced me to some powerful that opened my and eyes in the most incredible way.

She opened her home to my and a place to share my own with 40+ women! As well as ALL of Fit For Service during one of our summits. I’ve never met a more generous and devoted woman.

She is definitely here to shift the and everyone she touches is so lucky! Celeste is deeply humble, even though she’s magical AF! I met Lisa around the time of Covid lockdown. She took over one of the rooms in our office (right next to mine🥰). I was hopeful that the four of us would all get along, and to my surprise, not only do we all work well together, we each other! We can lean on each others’ skills, and we are learning even more about each other on a deeply personal level. It’s definitely a . How many people can say they LOVE when their coworkers are around?

Lisa is a whiz with marketing, technology, planning, organizing, and a beautiful and ! She does Healing, , card readings, and now ! I love working with her and we have our first together next Wednesday that I’m so excited about!!

She’s one of the people I’ve ever met, so , and !

Originally, Heidi was an instructor at my massage school. She had bubbly and I could tell had a of knowledge wanting to explode out of her! She’s trained in soooo many different modalities: belly dance, (a bazillion different techniques), health , yoga, **ra, ear seeds, , I could go on! I love talking to her about ALL the things!

She’s so , even with all of this . I want to celebrate her now in all of her ! Heidi, you’re the s**t!!!

My favorite moment with her was walking through the woods in Arkansas, stacking stones, and discovering a full-sized watermelon growing in the middle of nowhere! We carried that sucker (20+lbs) all the way back to our cave hotel. Be on the lookout for workouts! 😋

She ALSO works in the same office I do! I love seeing her car out front when I arrive and I feel incredibly blessed to have such a great and supportive friend working with me. She is a great conversationalist; we can talk for hours without running out of things to say!

I met Jenna when I signed up with Young Living nearly five years ago. We had a lot in common then, but it wasn’t until last year that I realized she’s a ! Her support in my life has been paramount and I have so much love for her!

We get to see each other all the time because now we are in the same office, often partnering for couples massages and brainstorming ideas. I feel incredibly blessed to work with and learn from her!

She has such a warm , brings peace into many lives, and is a lifelong . She is one of the I will be referring my clients to while I’m on maternity leave. I trust that they will, literally, be in good hands with her. She’s also a instructor, a master herbalist, and dabbles in crystals.

I laugh with her, do , , and s**t with her ( **b prints, , leaf art, and so many other things!), hold each other , and we have deep and insightful conversations that leave me feeling enlivened. I’m so grateful to have a friend like Jenna!

I met on the obstacle course during our first .for.service summit. I was making my way over tires when she smacked my ass in support. I knew we were going to be friends from that moment!

I have laughed (and cried) more with her than I think anyone else. Our inner children play very well together! We always find each other during ecstatic dances, she’s always on the go, or living in New Jersey, but I feel close to her always.

She knows what to say to me, even when some of her questions trigger me. This is perfect though! She helps me grow!

My daughter adores her and Kat has a way of making kids feel seen, heard, and appreciated.

She’s an amazing interior decorator, bringing emphasis to sacred space and spiritual roots. I’d definitely call her a coach, and a great connector of people. She’s also a powerful manifesting magician!! Seriously! I could tell you some stories.

She’s so brave too! Traveling across country, diving into ceremonies, and taking huge leaps of faith because her spirit calls her to adventure and she answers.

I have known since high school. We have seen each other at some of our lowest lows, which makes it that much more incredible to witness where we both are now.

I am SO proud of the growth Jessica has accomplished. She has taken so many risks, let unhealthy habits go, and continues to dive in deep to her desires and purpose. I’m 100% convinced that she will achieve everything she sets her mind to!

She left her comfortable job to pursue things that light her up. She is an amazing cheerleader to so many people, including me! She has been a coaching client for over a year now, but I feel like she gives back just as much motivation and coaching to me!

The past three years have been some of the most , , and years of my life.

I left a toxic relationship, making the choice to leave my house, garden, dogs I rescued and helped trust humans again, the “known”, and the hope of a future with someone.

My father passed away unexpectedly, and the day after this is when I moved! I got myself into an apartment that was 3X what my shared mortgage cost was, on my own; my name was the only one on the lease.

I joined for two years, healed SO much trauma through community, medicine journeys and other powerful modalities, and had support of amazing mentors. This unlocked the beginning of healing around s*x, love, and relationships and lit the way to my new path- in school to become a certified S*x, Love, and Relationships coach

My daughter’s father took his life at the end of 2019, dealing a huge blow to so many lives, especially my daughter.

Then, the lockdown. I experienced some intense , self-reflection, and got clear about what I really desire in life.

I met my towards the end of lockdown, and despite the negativity in the world, we a beautiful relationship.

Now, I’m currently 31 weeks , engaged, continuing to build my business, devour knowledge, share my wisdom, still working on self-reflection and growth, being as patient as possible while raising a teenage girl, and fully committing to developing self-actualization through the powerful container of a monogamous .

I’ve had several other tests thrown my way, and I remind myself to stay in my center, that I have a 💯 track record of survival and figuring things out.

I know that what I have learned is not just for me, but to help others as well. I’m so grateful to be on this path of coach and healer.

My Pregnancy Journey

There is nowhere to hide.

My body feels foreign, hijacked.

The super cocktail of 100x the potency of normal progesterone and estrogen warp my emotions, my figure, and really f**k with my digestion and sleep.

Emotions that I buried years ago are bubbling up to the surface.

Traumatic memories emerge as nightmares, heart palpitations, and intermittent rage, anxiety, and crying spells. All coming up without warning or a dial to turn them down.

What worked to calm, subdue, avoid, or even just numb these sensations isn’t safe for my growing child.

My only choice is to refine other tools in my box, create new routines, or the most effective in the long run, to sit in it.

To be with it.

To breathe into the center.

To acknowledge and bless what is alive within me.

It’s terrifying and challenging and beautiful all at the same time.

I feel constantly tested, yet shown over and over how strong I really am.

Pregnancy is not just glowing, happy, excitement. It is that, yes. But it’s also the most profound and powerful medicine journey I’ve ever experienced.

It’s a Heroine’s Journey, and I said yes.
