Hi mamas! Another teaching Tuesday for you 🤎
Today I will be covering some of my favorite ways to prepare for postpartum 🧺
Postpartum is a season that is often an afterthought. The birth being at the forefront of our minds & what ever comes next just happens. When in reality, postpartum is just as important to prepare for.
So let’s discuss what that preparation could look like:
🪩 Having a nesting party:
Letting the women you love come & clean your house, bake pp meals, & bless you into motherhood by helping finish your to-do list!!!
🏡 Creating a cozy postpartum space to rest:
This doesn’t have to look like going & redecorating your room, but making it a place that you want to rest in. Even as simple as hanging those pictures on your wall or organizing that messy corner you try to ignore. Making your room a place where in those early recovery weeks you’re able to rest in.
💊 Taking your prentals/vitamins during pregnancy:
Pregnancy is depleting but so is postpartum! My mindset is the better you care for your body in pregnancy, the better you can be prepared for after the baby comes.
🥘 Making freezer meals during late 3rd trimester:
This is so helpful for getting stocked early. It takes minimal effort for maximized postpartum nourishment!
📋 Plan who you want to support you postpartum:
Whether it’s a postpartum doula, your friends, family, or all the above, having an idea of that mapped out before having your baby is the best thing to do! Even mamas who don’t know if they want people to come over early postpartum oftentimes want help in the later weeks once their partner has gone back to work. Make a group chat with your “villagers” & try to make a game plan!
🎁 Put postpartum needs on your registry:
Whether it’s a gift card for lactation support, postpartum doula fund, or practical supplies you’ll need, it’s important to make this just as much of a priority as that new stroller you want! There’s no way getting around needing those postpartum supplies like pads, ni**le cream, etc. So might as well put them on your registry!!!
I hope you found this teaching Tuesday helpful! Thanks for being here 🤎
