Just Breathe Massage, LLC is CLOSED.
This post has been a long time coming. There is no other reason for the delay than, I simply didn't know what to say. I kept thinking, this will change. I'll get back to it. The fact remains, my business is closed.
It's hard to believe that I performed my last massage nearly a year ago on March 20. Mandatory closures in KCMO initiated this change but I cannot blame the closing of my business on that alone.
I shamefully admit I fell victim to the media frenzy over COVID-19. For four weeks straight, I had the news on every waking moment and nearly never left my house. I was terrified for everyone I loved and extremely angry at everyone that didn't take this seriously. I was having extreme anxiety and losing sleep over the state of the world and I kept as much of it inside the house with me. Alone with my anxiety and the stupid news channels that fed my depression. Thankfully, I heard a voice tell me to TURN THE TELEVISION OFF!
Many of you know, I had previously already planned for hand surgery in April 2020. That was put on hold due to COVID-19 decisions and the fact that it was an elective surgery.
Eventually, I did have the surgery. The tumor was larger than we realized and the nerves were stretched farther than initially expected. I thought the tumor originated elsewhere and was pushing on the nerve but that wasn't the case. The tumor was growing from the nerve sheath. What I thought would take 5-6 weeks of recovery has taken seven months and continues. I have since gained most of the feeling back in my fingers. Yay!
Obviously, the budget and finances do not wait. I finally went back to work in December. I am fortunate enough to have two different jobs and am diligently working to financially recover from 2020.
Although, I have closed Just Breathe Massage, LLC, I have retained my massage license and will continue to stay current. Ultimately, I want to add massage back into my life. I loved the relationships that developed with my clients. I loved seeing them feel better and get stronger. I loved using my hands to truly connect with people. And quite frankly, we need this more than ever, right now.
We are created to help each other. We are created to thrive on touch and connection and I grow concerned for all of us without it.
I thank every one of you that has helped make Just Breathe Massage, LLC a successful business.
And despite what is happening with COVID-19, I still highly suggest we all JUST BREATHE ...... we need the fresh oxygen! We require the fresh oxygen! We need to stretch our lungs, expand our rib cage. Don't be afraid ... be smart ... go outside, when able and breathe in all the good God has given us. ☯️
