More than 13,500 students learned injury prevention and safety skills through our injury prevention program, ThinkFirst of Greater Kansas City, during the 2025โ€“2026 school year! ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿš— This year, the program delivered 115 presentations at 50 schools, teaching students about brain and spinal cord injury prevention, distracted driving, helmet use, e-scooter safety, sports safety, water safety and more.

An educator provided the following comment in the post-program survey said, โ€œThe impact is amazing and so very educating. These students don't always listen to us about making decisions but hearing it firsthand is a game changer. This is a wonderful program, and we are so thankful it's available to the community."

The Research Foundation recently visited Giving the Basics, one of our 2025 Community Grantees, to see their important work in Jackson County and Kansas City, Missouri.
