Our next women’s health clinic is this coming Monday! As with all of our other clinics, all services are done 100% free of charge. Whether you have medicaid or are uninsured, stop in this Monday and let our team take care of you. No appointment necessary, 0 judgement. Just high quality, compassionate care.

We know how important feet are for those seen in our clinics, and that’s made our foot clinic one of the clinics our patients (and our team) look forward to the most every month. Don’t be shy, stop by and get checked out tomorrow 💚

We are so proud to highlight Streetwise Scholars, a program created last year in partnership with Kansas City University that is already making a real difference for the patients we serve.

Through this program, medical students are placed with CBB in a case management capacity, divided into teams, and assigned to work with patients alongside our staff. Last year 14 students participated; this year that number has grown to 20, including Rohan, Gabby, and Astha pictured in this carousel.

The work these students do goes beyond scheduling appointments or filling out paperwork. They are learning firsthand what it actually looks like to navigate homelessness in Kansas City, the barriers around housing, transportation, identification, benefits, and access to care that shape a person’s health just as much as any diagnosis.

During our first year of the program, we noticed a few great outcomes. Patients began to feel heard and that led to meaningful connections. Some patients shared with our team that they didn’t want to disappoint the students helping them. That kind of genuine trust is what street medicine is built on.

We are grateful to Kansas City University and to every student who has chosen to learn from and serve alongside our patients. Programs like this help shape the next generation of healthcare providers, and we are honored to be part of that 💚

As warmer weather settles into Kansas City, we are updating our seasonal needs list and asking our community for help.

Our teams are out every week this summer, bringing medical care and supplies directly to our unhoused neighbors. To keep up with (and stay ahead of) the heat, our biggest need right now is bottled water. Purchases from grocery stores, Costco, or Sam's Club usually stretch the furthest, and you can ship directly to our office or drop donations off at 3150 Fiberglass Road, Building G, Kansas City KS 66115.

We are also needing tents, tarps, sleeping bags, snacks, wipes, batteries and bug spray. These are not just comfort items. They help our neighbors stay safer from the elements, and they help our team build the trust that makes everything else we do possible.

To make it as easy as possible, we have an Amazon needs list where you can purchase and ship items directly to us. You can find the link in the comments below!

Heads up, Kansas City! Our Saturday clinic tomorrow, May 23rd, and our Monday clinic on May 25th are cancelled in observance of Memorial Day weekend 🇺🇸

We’ll be back at it and ready to serve on Tuesday, May 26th. In the meantime, please stay safe and enjoy the long weekend.
