I found this old photo of me at 17 and asked ChatGPT to compare it with a recent photo of me at 51.
This is what ChatGPT said:
“What stood out most wasn’t that you looked younger…it was that you looked well maintained. Your skin has aged well, your facial structure remains balanced, and most importantly, you still look like you.”
I’ll be 52 next week so while it may sound biased, that made me smile because that’s exactly how I’ve always hoped to age. I’ve never wanted to chase youth or look 20 again. I’ve simply wanted to care for myself…with kindness, consistency, and grace, while embracing each season of life with confidence.
As an aesthetic provider, that’s also the goal I have for every patient, not to make them look like someone else or decades younger, but to help them look like the healthiest, most refreshed, and most confident version of themselves, while preserving what makes them uniquely them. As I tell patients my age, we lived half a century taking care of other people around us, why can’t we take care of ourselves too, now more than ever, while we can.
We can’t stop time, but we can choose how we care for ourselves along the way. To me, that’s what aging well is all about. ❤️
