Mental health conditions are more common than many people realize, and they can affect individuals at any stage of life.
According to Mental Health America, nearly 1 in 5 U.S. adults experience a diagnosable mental health condition each year, and about 46% of Americans will meet the criteria for a mental health condition at some point in their lifetime. Research also shows that half of all mental health conditions begin by age 14, emphasizing the importance of early awareness, support, and intervention.
Conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, and bipolar disorder can impact emotions, relationships, work, school, and daily routines. While these experiences can feel isolating, many people benefit from support, treatment, coping skills, and meaningful connections with others.
Conversations about mental health help reduce stigma and remind people that support is available. Learning the signs, checking in with loved ones, and encouraging open dialogue can make a real difference in someone’s life.
