“Just find the root cause.”
We hear this phrase all the time in functional medicine , but here’s the truth:
Health concerns are rarely caused by ONE thing.
Symptoms are often the result of multiple systems interacting with each other.
Take fatigue, for example.
The conversation shouldn’t stop at:
→ “You’re tired.”
We also ask:
• How are you sleeping?
• How stable is your blood sugar?
• What does stress look like right now?
• Is digestion functioning well?
• Are nutrient needs being met?
• How is movement and recovery?
• Could inflammation be playing a role?
Functional medicine looks at the body as an interconnected system.
Instead of asking:
“What medication matches this symptom?”
We ask:
“What patterns might be contributing to how you feel?”
That doesn’t mean there’s always one answer. It means there’s usually more than one opportunity to support healing.
Small changes across multiple systems often create bigger results than chasing a single solution.
