With MCAS, it's tempting to assume a reaction is caused by whatever happened right before symptoms started. But reactions can be delayed by hours — sometimes even days.
This delay is part of why identifying triggers by "trial and error" alone is so hard, and why many people feel like their triggers are unpredictable or "random."
One step today: Instead of only asking "what did I just do/eat?", also look back 12–24 hours. A pattern may be hiding there.
