šŸŽ„ NEW VIDEO: ROCK BOTTOM
Most people think rock bottom is a moment.
A single event.
A diagnosis.
A number on a scale.
A scary conversation with a doctor.
For me, rock bottom wasn’t one moment.
It was dying a little every day.
It was brain fog.
It was exhaustion.
It was carrying 256 pounds on a 5’8ā€ frame.
It was watching life get smaller while telling myself everything was fine.
The truth is that many people don’t recognize rock bottom because it happens slowly.
One pound.
One symptom.
One compromise.
One tired day at a time.
The good news?
The climb out happens one decision at a time too.
In this video, I share part of my story and the realization that changed everything.
If you’ve ever felt trapped in your own body, tired all the time, or wondered if things can really change, this one is for you.
šŸ‘‡ Watch the new video and let me know what ā€œrock bottomā€ looked like in your own life.

I THOUGHT YOUTUBE WOULD TAKE OVER MY LIFE.

THE FOG LIFTED

I WAS WRONG.

šŸŽ¬ A realization hit me today.

For months, somewhere in the back of my mind, YouTube looked like this:

ā€œEverybody be quiet. Daddy’s filming.ā€

Not for an hour.

Not for two hours.

For days.

Today I discovered that wasn’t true.

I sat down, revised scripts, loaded BIGVU, and filmed Episodes 2 through 7.

A few mistakes.

A few retakes.

No big deal.

Hit record and go again.

What surprised me wasn’t the number of videos.

What surprised me was realizing that content creation doesn’t have to take over my life.

The content can be organized around my life.

That’s a very different thing.

The same lesson I’ve learned through carnivore keeps showing up everywhere:

Simplification creates freedom.

Today I filled a freezer with videos.

And just like a freezer full of beef means I don’t have to solve dinner every day, a backlog of videos means I don’t have to solve YouTube every day.

That’s margin.

That’s freedom.

And that, my friends, is a gift.

šŸ„©šŸŽ¬ā˜•

I suspect that one will resonate with more than just creators. It’s really about building systems that serve your life instead of letting life serve the systems. That’s a lesson almost everybody can relate to.

For years I was told to fear salt.

Cut back on salt.
Watch your sodium.
Salt is bad for you.

Then I changed the way I eat.

When I removed most of the processed foods, bread, sugar, snacks, and fast food from my diet, something interesting happened.

I wasn’t getting all the hidden salt that comes packaged with modern food.

Today, most of my meals are simple:

🄩 Beef
🄚 Eggs
🧈 Butter
ā˜• Coffee
šŸ’§ Water

And yes… salt.

Not because I’m trying to be rebellious.

Because food should taste good.

Because electrolytes matter.

Because hydration matters.

Because when you’re eating a low-carb or carnivore lifestyle, your body handles water differently than it did when carbohydrates were driving the bus.

I’m not telling you to dump salt on everything.

I’m simply saying that sometimes the problem isn’t the salt.

Sometimes it’s the food the salt came with.

One of the simplest meals in my life is a steak, a little butter, and a sprinkle of salt.

Simple.

Satisfying.

And a whole lot different than the way I used to eat.

Hi, I’m Steve, and that’s another lesson I’ve learned on the road from 256 pounds to metabolic health.

Take a look at what someone created with ChatGPT.

ā€œStopped buying new pansā€¦ā€ reprise
Still true:
I stopped buying new pans after this one.
Sometimes the best kitchen upgrade is simply buying something once and using it for years.

The sale is sitewide right now — not just the pans.
I noticed the knives are also on sale with some discounts up to 50% off.
If you’ve been wanting to upgrade kitchen tools you actually KEEP instead of repeatedly replacing cheaper ones, this may be a good time to look around.

A lot of people assume carnivore means expensive ribeyes every day.
In reality?
Learning how to buy and prepare affordable cuts changed everything for me.

Eggs.

I only recommend tools I actually use myself.
This pan has been part of my kitchen for years now and I’m still reaching for it daily.
Wanted to give folks another heads-up while the Summer Sale pricing is still available.

I’m learning that peace often comes from preparation.
Do the work.
Prepare ahead.
Simplify what can be simplified.
Then rest becomes easier.

One of the things I’m learning is that bigger isn’t always better.
Email marketers often focus on list size.
But a small list that actually reads, responds, and engages is worth far more than a giant list that ignores you.
Kit considers anything above 36% to be a ā€œVery High Sender Reputation.ā€
My current open rate is over 52%.
What that tells me isn’t that I’m doing something special.
It tells me the message is reaching the people who need it.
Every subscriber is a real person.
A husband.
A grandfather.
A man trying to lose weight.
Someone looking for hope.
That’s why I continue to write.
One conversation.
One email.
One person at a time.
Walk with me. šŸ„©šŸ“–
ā€œThe people who subscribe are actually reading.ā€
That’s a completely different message.
In fact, the most powerful part of Kit’s reply isn’t your 47 subscribers.
It’s this:
36%+ = Very High Sender Reputation
52.08% Open Rate
That means your subscribers are opening at roughly 50% higher than Kit’s highest benchmark category.
That’s not bragging.
That’s evidence.
I’d crop the screenshot to show:
52.08% Open Rate
Kit’s benchmark explanation
Remove subscriber count entirely
Remove anything that makes it look like a vanity metric
Then your post becomes about engagement, not audience size.
Something like:

šŸ„©šŸ“–šŸš—

Walk With Me.

Yesterday I sent a newsletter to 43 subscribers.

Nearly half of them opened it.

For a small newsletter, that’s something to celebrate.

Today I was sitting in the car outside Walmart waiting for Beth.

When she returned, she was scrolling through text messages from her daughter.

As I sat there, I noticed a man standing beside a table gathering signatures for a petition about the income tax.

I looked at Beth and said, ā€œI’ll be right back.ā€

I jumped out of the car and walked over.

I never talked to him about income tax.

I never talked to him about petitions.

Instead, I showed him my before-and-after picture.

I told him that I teach men how to become metabolically healthy through a free newsletter.

Then I asked a simple question.

ā€œWould you like to sign up?ā€

He said yes.

Just like that, David became subscriber number 44.

The thing that strikes me is that this newsletter isn’t growing through advertising.

It’s growing through conversations.

The barbershop.

The produce department at Safeway.

Church.

A funeral.

A Walmart parking lot.

One conversation at a time.

One person at a time.

One relationship at a time.

One hundred and one pounds ago, I was the man who needed this information.

Today, I get to pass it along.

Walk with me.
