How much does it cost the resident?
"It is completely free to the qualified resident—100% grant-funded. There’s zero cost for the evaluation and free equipment and free installations."
Who qualifies?
"Any Snohomish County resident who is 62 or older, whether they own their home or rent. The income limits are very generous—up to $6,808 a month for a single person—so it covers a huge portion of seniors on fixed budgets who usually wouldn't qualify for traditional assistance."
How hard is the referral process for our crews?
"Extremely easy. We don't expect firefighters to do paperwork in the field. Your crews can simply hand the resident or their family a rack card, or your team can shoot a quick email or call over to our intake line with the resident's contact info with their approval. We handle the rest."

This month we will be covering Fall Prevention in the Home and the Community. Listen as our panel of guest speakers discuss comprehensive approaches to fall prevention for older adults.

Their presentations will go over general risk factors, the role of strength and balance training in maintaining stability, specific environmental factors that may contribute to risk, and community efforts and risk reduction inside and outside the home.
