🎉 Celebrating Sherrie’s Incredible Journey! 🎉

Today is a very special day at RiverRidge Center as we celebrate Sherrie’s discharge from our Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program! 💙

After an incredible 1½-year rehabilitation journey, Sherrie is ready to take her next step forward. Following a nontraumatic brain hemorrhage in the brainstem that resulted in hemiplegia and made speech, mobility, and everyday activities challenging, Sherrie worked incredibly hard alongside our Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Recreation Therapy teams.

Throughout her time with us, she showed determination, perseverance, and so much strength. Day by day, she worked toward regaining skills, building independence, and reaching her goals. 💪✨

We are so proud of how far Sherrie has come and grateful that we had the opportunity to be part of her journey. While we will certainly miss seeing her around RiverRidge, we are excited to see what comes next!

Congratulations, Sherrie! Your RiverRidge family is cheering you on every step of the way! 💙🎉👏

🥧 Day 3 of Pie for a Purpose!

By now, we're pretty sure our Market and Management Team is questioning every life decision that led to getting pied in the face... 😂

Thankfully, every splat, laugh, and whipped cream-covered smile helped support the Michael R. Walker Foundation, providing emergency assistance to employees when they need it most.

Keep the laughs coming and enjoy today's photos and videos! There's still more pie-filled fun ahead! 🥧❤️

Last month, long-term care leaders from across the country gathered in Washington, D.C., to advocate for policies that support residents, caregivers, and providers.

As we reflect on the importance of advocacy, we’d also like to thank Angela Westhoff, President and CEO of the Maine Health Care Association, for joining us at our New England 1 Market award celebration last month and sharing powerful insights on the impact of advocacy in long-term care.

Angela highlighted several recent accomplishments in Maine, including reforming nursing facility reimbursement rates, opposing harmful staffing mandates, and advancing policies that better recognize the real cost of providing quality care. As she reminded attendees, these are “system-shaping, future-defining accomplishments” that happen when providers refuse to sit on the sidelines.

She also spoke to the critical need to invest in the workforce, noting that competitive wages and benefits are essential to attracting and retaining the caregivers residents depend on every day.

Perhaps most importantly, Angela emphasized that “advocacy is a team sport.” The progress being made across our industry is only possible because of the collective efforts of caregivers, center leaders, providers, associations, residents, families, and advocates working toward a common goal.

We are grateful for Angela's leadership and for the partnership of state health care associations across the country as they continue to champion policies that strengthen long-term care and support those who dedicate their lives to serving others. ❤️

🥧 Day 2 of Pie for a Purpose!

The smiles, laughter, and pie-covered faces continue! Every pie thrown helped support the Michael R. Walker Foundation, providing emergency financial assistance to employees when they need it most.

We're grateful to everyone who donated, volunteered, and joined in the fun. Together, we're making a difference by caring for those who care for others. ❤️

Today marks Day 1 of 5 as we share photos and videos from our Pie for a Purpose fundraiser! 🥧🎉

Our Market and Management Team put their faces on the line—literally!—to help raise money for the Michael R. Walker Foundation, proving that a little whipped cream is a small price to pay for a great cause.

The Michael R. Walker Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit emergency relief fund dedicated to supporting our employees through life's unexpected financial hardships. Funded primarily through employee donations, the Foundation provides grants to team members facing medical emergencies, natural disasters, fire, domestic abuse, funeral expenses, and other unforeseen challenges.

Through this foundation, we're able to care for those who spend every day caring for others. ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, participated, cheered us on, and helped make this event a success. Stay tuned all week as we share some of our favorite moments from Pie for a Purpose—you won't want to miss the smiles, laughter, and a few pie-covered faces! 🥧😂

We will reveal our total amount raised this Friday, July 3rd!

🎳 We had a ball on our bowling outing! 🎳

Our patients were on a roll, striking up fun, knocking down pins, and sharing plenty of laughs along the way. Whether they scored a strike, a spare, or just enjoyed the game, everyone bowled us over with their enthusiasm and great sportsmanship!

Days like these remind us that the best scores aren't always on the scoreboard—they're the smiles, friendships, and memories we make together. 🌟🤩

Take a peek at some of our favorite moments from today's outing. We think you'll agree it was right up our alley! 🎳😊
