For years, my relationship with my mom wasn’t always an easy one. Like many mothers and daughters, we had our patterns, our misunderstandings, and moments where we struggled to truly see one another.
This trip to Germany July 2026, felt different.
Somewhere along the way, there was a softening. More listening. More laughter. More acceptance. Instead of trying to change one another, we simply met each other where we were.
One of the greatest gifts was being able to share my Vedic Thai Bodywork practice with her.
Watching her body gradually let go of years of tension was incredibly moving. As her nervous system settled, I could see her breathing deepen, her movements become easier and she even experienced improvements in some everyday bodily functions that had been troubling her.
But what touched me most wasn’t just the physical changes.
It was the connection.
To care for my mama withh my own hands…to witness her receive that care…and to feel our relationship deepen through presence rather than words…it is something I’ll always carry with me.
While saying goodbye this time was much harder than it has been in the past, my heart is so full. The time we shared was an incredible gift, and I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything.
This trip reminded me that healing isn’t always about fixing.
Sometimes healing is simply creating enough safety for the body to soften...and for the heart to follow.
