Today, many will celebrate Mother’s Day.

It’s a time for radical acceptance and reflection.

There are 4 types of lived experiences you’ll witness:

1. Mother is inconsistently around
2. Mother is living, but no relationship
3. Mother passed away (however long ago)
4. Mother is living and it’s a thriving relationship

Be slow to judge or dismiss someone’s journey.

STOP saying comments such as…

To those whose mother is inconsistent:
- You need to put family over feelings
- You need to still be the bigger person
- You need to be grateful she still shows

To those whose mother is living, but no relationship:
- You need to remember she gave you life
- You need to make peace before it’s too late
- You need to stop acting like you’re only hurting

To those whose mother passed:
- You need to move on, she’s gone
- You need to be strong for everyone else
- You need to focus, it happened for a reason

To those whose mother is alive and it’s thriving:
- You need to realize how lucky you are
- You need to understand others, must be nice
- You need to stop bragging, not everyone has that

Start believing: everyone’s story is their own.

P.S. Choose what you need today—space, stillness, support, sisterhood, shed some tears and/or silence.

For the soft hearts, silent grievers and sacred bonds.

❤️ Dr. Dominique

Hey there,

At Beloved Wellness Center®, we hope you and your family are well.

The world feels heavy right now. Change is coming fast in our family, communities, jobs and in the world. In the middle of it all, you are still here, still showing up and still striving for another day.

As you take life one day at a time, I want you to consider how to do it without exhausting your capacity through the BELOVED Method to Mindful Living™. Each letter of BELOVED carries a reminder, a lesson and an action you can take today.

B: Breathe Before You React

Reminder: Your nervous system is not your enemy, but your protector.
Lesson: When the world speeds up, your breath is the one thing that can slow you down. Reacting from a place of overwhelm rarely leads to outcomes we are proud of.
Action: Practice the 4-7-8 breath. Inhale for 4 counts, hold for 7, exhale for 8. Do this before responding to difficult news, hard conversations or moments that feel out of your control.

E: Embrace What You Can Control

Reminder: You cannot pour from an empty vessel and you cannot fix everything at once.
Lesson: Overwhelm grows when we focus on what lies beyond our reach. Peace grows when we return to what is ours to tend.
Action: Write down two columns: "What I Can Control" and "What I Cannot." Commit your energy to the first column today. Let the second column rest and work on releasing items.

L: Lean Into Your Community

Reminder: Healing does not happen in isolation.
Lesson: Historically, our greatest strength has come from gathering, from holding one another up when the weight of the world felt unbearable. You are not meant to carry this alone.
Action: Reach out to one trusted person this week. Not to solve anything, just to connect. A text, a call, a walk, a shared meal. Presence is powerful medicine.

O: Own Your Story

Reminder: Your experiences, every single one of them, have shaped a resilience that belongs only to you.
Lesson: When the world tries to define you by its chaos, you get to reclaim your narrative. Your story is not finished. This chapter is not the last one.
Action: Write or speak aloud one sentence that begins: "I am still here because..." Say it daily. Mean it. When you are unable to answer it, doesn't keep it a secret, ask for help.

V: Value Your Rest & Recovery

Reminder: Rest and recovery is not a reward, but a right.
Lesson: In times of collective stress, rest becomes an act of resistance and self-preservation. Your body and mind need recovery in order to respond, not just react.
Action: Protect one hour this week that belongs entirely to you. No news, no scrolling, no obligations. Fill it with something that restores you: sleep, stillness, creativity or joy.

E: Expect Growth, Not Perfection

Reminder: Progress is not linear (goes in a straight line) and that is okay.
Lesson: You will have hard days. You will feel like you have taken steps backward. This is part of the process, not proof that it is not working. Growth asks us to be patient with ourselves and others while doing the work.
Action: At the end of each day, name one thing you did well, no matter how small. One kind word. One boundary held. One moment you chose yourself. It counts and your brain stores these reflections.

D: Determination Keep Going

Reminder: Courage is not the absence of fear. It is the decision to move forward in spite of it.
Lesson: Every day that you choose to show up for yourself and the people you love, it is an act of courage. Do not underestimate what this decision costs and what it builds overtime.
Action: Write your "why" on a piece of paper and put it somewhere you will see it. Why are you doing this work? Why does your healing matter? Why were you chosen? Why you deserve healing? Let these answers lead you on the days when everything else feels uncertain.

You are not just surviving this season, but building something in the middle of it which leads to acts of thriving.

This is the BELOVED Method to Mindful Living™.

Healing is not linear and it is not a performance. You do not have to show up perfectly. You are allowed to process in your own way.

And right now, being in process is harder than usual.

We are living through a moment that is asking more of us than most of us signed up for. The news is heavy. The systems around us feel unstable. Many of you are trying to tend to your own inner world while the outer world feels like it is shifting beneath your feet.

What you may be feeling is collective fear, grief, exhaustion and wonder.

This is not weakness, but what happens when human beings are asked to carry too much for too long without enough rest, recognitions and relief from the heaviness.

Many are striving to maintain hope, but remember, it's not the absence of hard days. It is the quiet knowing that this season does not get to be your whole story.

While you are finding your footing, here are three ways to cope and stay connected to curiosity and hope:

1. Let yourself grieve without making it a verdict.

When exhaustion shows up, resist the urge to turn it into a conclusion or diagnosis about who you are or what is possible. Grief is information, not a life sentence. Give it space, then gently ask: What does this feeling need from me right now?

2. Stay curious about small moments of aliveness.

Hope rarely arrives as a grand revelation. It shows up in the song that moved you, the conversation that felt real, the morning you woke up and something felt just slightly lighter. Pay attention to those moments. They are data too.

3. Evolve your capacity like it is sacred, because it is.

You cannot pour from a place of chronic depletion. Boundaries are not selfish. Rest is not a reward. Choosing what you can and cannot absorb right now is one of the most radical acts of hope available to you.

Perhaps this has been your journey or perhaps not.

Keep going. Not because it is easy but because you are worth the effort.

With us in your corner,

Dr. Dominique

The world feels heavy right now. If you're struggling to feel grounded, please know you're not alone.

In moments like these, it's so easy to lose ourselves in the noise: endlessly scrolling, searching for answers, trying to make sense of what feels senseless. I want to gently remind you: your nervous system wasn't built for 24/7 crisis mode.

Here's what can help:

Limit the doomscrolling. Stay informed, yes, but protect your peace too. Set boundaries with news and social media. Your mental health isn't selfish and it shouldn't be an afterthought. It's essential.

Keep your appointments. Whatever wellness services and support you have in place (therapy, medical care, spiritual practices) now is the time to lean in, not pull away. Let these sessions be your anchor when everything else feels unsteady.

Monitor your mind, body and spirit. Give yourself permission to engage in activities that bring you joy, even in the middle of grief, loss and chaos. These moments help us process what words can't hold.

Connect with people who get it. Real community, the kind where you don't have to explain or perform, isn't just nice to have right now. It's survival.

Where We Stand

Beloved Wellness Center® exists because we believe healing happens in spaces where people can show up fully as themselves. Our values aren't up for debate. They're the foundation of everything we do here.

We center diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and justice.

Black lives matter. Trans rights are human rights. Bodily autonomy matters. All gender identities and sexual orientations are respected. Immigrants deserve dignity and opportunity. Climate change and COVID are real. Genocide is never excusable. Harmful silence is complicity.

We hold space for healing and humanity.

If any of this offends you, Beloved Wellness Center® isn't for you. This space protects historically underrepresented voices and values of integrity, not harmful ideology.

You don't have to have it all figured out. You just need to take one step at a time.

In wellness,

Dr. Dominique

P.S. If we're aligned, I'm so glad you're here. If we're not, I understand. Please let me know as soon as possible so can provide your referrals for your transition.

I invite you to pause and ask yourself:

• Do I feel like I have to be strong all the time for everyone?
• Am I multi-talented yet find myself shrinking in certain spaces?
• Is my inner voice constantly nagging with a harsh, judgmental tone?
• Do I yell “Yassss!” at the TV when an actress’s struggles mirror my own but I struggle to express my feelings?

If you answered 'yes' to any of these, you're in the right place for support.

Welcome, I’m Dr. Dominique Pritchett—licensed mental health therapist and founder of Beloved Wellness Center®.

As a doctor of psychology and licensed clinical social worker licensed in Wisconsin and Illinois, I'm trained to treat a wide range of mental health concerns using culturally relevant, evidence-based approaches.

Together, we’ll build on your strengths to create a care plan that reflects who you are and supports where you want to grow. You don’t have to have it all figured out—just the courage to begin.

When women gather, transformation is possible!

Last night (3/27), I was the keynote at the 3rd Annual Empowered Women’s Mixer at Carthage.

The Carthage College Office of Equity & Inclusion deserves their flowers now—the whole event and energy was a vibe!

There were women of all hues sharing space.

They were guided through The S.I.S.T.A. Method®—5 keys to inspire standing on their story, speaking up, seeking support and serving without burning out.

I shared pieces of my testimony and travels around the world while partnering with amazing people.

Here’s what an attendee shared on Talkadot: “It was the BEST part of my day -- walked away with tips and actionable steps I could take to avoid burnout and find time to re-center and give myself grace.”

Women, we deserve more than an applause for tolerating a world that continues to try and erase us—our experiences and evolution. Oh, to be a woman!

Take up space that’s aligned with your soul.

Thank you Carthage College’s Office of Equity & Inclusion for inviting me as your keynote speaker.

Major thanks to Dr. Michele, Endia and Julia.♥️

P.S. Call or send a message of love to a powerful woman in your life. Don’t wait until later. Promise?

Perfectionism isn’t a standard—it’s self-sabotage.

This limits your capacity of tolerance.

It pushes you into an all or nothing way of living:

❌ Overanalyzing every single decision
❌ Avoid taking action unless it’s “perfect”
❌ Beating yourself up over small mistakes

Sounds familiar?

Perfectionism is a prison disguised as a standard.

A few mindset shifts to redefine your capacity:

✅ Done is better than perfect
✅ Progress is better than pressure
✅ Learning is better than performing

P.S. What will be the noticeable difference in your life, if you freed what you’re overthinking right now?

We listen, we don’t judge.
