The coolers are STILL HERE. 😂

At this point, we have asked nicely. We have offered them for FREE. We have suggested picnics, lunch storage, science projects, road trips, and even building your very own Styrofoam igloo.

And yet… the cooler population remains concerningly high.

So this is your warning:

Soon, any purchase of $10 or more may come with a mandatory complimentary cooler. 😆

Buy a candle? Cooler.
Pick up supplements? Cooler.
Grab a cute little gift? Congratulations, you now also own a cooler.

They’re cute. They’re useful. They look like they should be giving life advice in a children’s book.

Perfect for tossing in a purse, backpack, desk drawer, or gifting to that friend who somehow owns 14 lip balms and can never find one.

🚨 THIS IS NOT A DRILL: ERIN MADE CANDLES AGAIN. 🕯️😂

Yes, FINALLY.

First batch back on the shelf: Grapefruit & Fir 🍊🌲

This one is honestly one of Erin’s favorite scents any time of year. Bright, fresh grapefruit mixed with cozy fir somehow just works whether it’s 80 degrees outside or you’re questioning why you still live in Wisconsin in February.

Apparently candle making requires wax, so Erin had to order more. Minor logistical oversight. 😅

But GOOD NEWS: more wax is on the way, which means more candle scents are coming soon!

For now, Grapefruit & Fir is available at Modern Apothecary while this batch lasts.

This looks like a pen. And technically…it is.

But it also has a window breaker and seat belt cutter built into it for emergencies.

It's one of those little things you can keep in the car and hopefully never, ever need for anything except writing.

But if you do need the other features, you'll probably be pretty glad they're there.

Happy Labor Day!

Today is for celebrating the people who work hard, keep things running, solve problems, take care of others, and somehow survive one more “quick question.” 😅

We’re taking the day off too.

Modern Apothecary is CLOSED today and will reopen Tuesday at 9 AM.

Meet the Pill Pod: a tiny little holder for keeping a few tablets handy in your purse, work bag, backpack or travel bag.

Is a pea-shaped pill container medically necessary? No.

Things Nobody Warned You About After 40: Sleep Edition 😴

Apparently, you can be exhausted all day and then become suspiciously alert at 10:47 PM.

Because that seems fair.

Sleep can get more complicated as we get older. Stress, caffeine, alcohol, medications, hormones, screen time, and inconsistent sleep schedules can all play a role.

One simple place to start: look at your caffeine timing. That 3 PM coffee may still be hanging around when you’re trying to convince your brain that bedtime is, in fact, bedtime.

And before automatically reaching for another sleep supplement, remember: figuring out why you aren’t sleeping well matters too.

Welcome to adulthood, where a good night’s sleep is somehow both free and occasionally impossible. 😅

🚗 Downtown Kenosha is about to become a very beautiful parking lot. 😂

The Kenosha Classic Car Show is tomorrow, which means cool cars, lots of people, street closures… and getting to Modern Apothecary may require the navigation skills of a seasoned rally driver.

We WILL be open, but if you need prescriptions, supplements, gifts, snacks, random pharmacy treasures, or just want to avoid saying, “BUT I CAN SEE THE BUILDING FROM HERE!”…
