***Where has human decency gone? We had a business reserve the tearoom for their company Christmas party ( 20+ guests ) only to be told the “day before” their event, after the food order was placed and we had driven 90 mins to pick it up, that 7-8 guests would not be attending due to how far away our tearoom was located. **This party made their reservation on the 9th of Nov.. Then, The Day Of the party 12-5 , after the food has been prepped, the tables are set, the special requested items have all been bought/prepared, they texted us saying they didn’t realize The Tea room of Keystone Heights was located in Keystone Heights 🤷‍♀️ and that the 1hr and 15 min drive was just too far for them to travel. Apparently they had us confused with another tearoom that’s 45 mins from them even though they were given our address ( multiple times ) and the city is IN our business name. 🤦‍♀️ If you’ve read this far you’re probably wondering what a small business does in a situation like this?! ( well, that makes two of us ) While we are extremely thankful this hasn’t occurred in over 4 years this is extremely detrimental to any business, but especially ours as everything is purchased specifically for each one of our parties. We strive to only serve the freshest food available, but sadly because one bad apple spoiles the bunch we will now ask for more information when taking reservations and parties over 10 will need to pay in advance. We certainly never expected to kick off the Christmas season this way, but here we are with lots of extra cucumbers and desserts and very few upcoming reservations for this week. 😢 Please consider stopping in tomorrow ( Sunday ) between 11-3 to help us with all the “extras” we purchased. We will have a discounted menu in hopes to treat you to something special and not have to toss out so much food. We also have seating available on Tuesday. Come sip Christmas flavored teas and try our delicious holiday spiced scones w/cream and jam. Seating is limited so to guarantee a seat please call 352.535.8510 ASAP. Walk ins are always welcome if seating permits and the gift shop will be open with lots of new holiday items. Don’t forget, we also offer gift certificates which make perfect stocking stuffers. 🎁 Thank you for supporting our small business. It truly means the world to us. Hope to see you soon.
