Jalaj Maheshwari, MSE shared insights from work on a new series of educational videos for that demonstrate why proper child seat usage is vital to keep kids safe at last week's annual Kidz In Motion conference.

These short videos were developed via a collaboration between Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the OSU Injury Biomechanics Research Center and were funded by the National Safety Council.

The final whistle doesn’t mean safety rules stop! Whether kids are walking home from soccer practice, the park, or school, let’s make getting home safely part of the game plan. 💪⚽️

🟢Follow the rules— Use crosswalks and obey pedestrian signals.
🟢 Stay together — Walk with your teammates, friends, or group whenever possible.
🟢 Stay alert— Keep your eyes up and watch for cars, driveways, and traffic. Don’t let phones or distractions take your attention away.
🟢 Go straight home— Once practice or school is over, head home unless you have another approved plan.
🟢 Check in — Let a parent or caregiver know when you arrive safely. 📱🏡

Parents, please take a few minutes to review your child’s walk-home route and safety plan. Remember the most important goal after the game is getting home safely!❤️
