How do I know if my baby is getting enough milk? 🤱💛

When you’re breastfeeding, it can be hard to know if your baby is transferring enough milk.

Here are some reassuring signs that your baby is getting enough milk:

💧 6+ wet diapers each day
After the early newborn days, most babies who are feeding well will have at least six wet diapers in a 24 hour period.

💩 Regular stools
In the early weeks, many breastfed babies have several stools a day. They’re often yellow, loose, and seedy. Stool patterns can change as babies get older, but frequent stools early on are a reassuring sign milk intake is good.

👶 You can hear or see swallowing during feeds
Active nursing with little pauses for swallows is a great sign that milk is transferring.

⏰ Baby nurses often, usually 8–14 times in 24 hours
Newborns have tiny tummies and breastmilk digests quickly. Frequent feeding is normal and healthy.

🤍 Your breasts feel softer after feeding
Many parents notice their breasts feel less full once baby has had a good feed.

😌 Baby looks relaxed and content after nursing
Loose hands and sometimes a sleepy baby are all signs of a good feed.

📈 Baby is gaining weight and following their growth curve.
