Inspired by (short version): K-Pop Demon Hunter skins in Fortnite

Inspired by (long version): Truthfully, I don't play Fortnite and only occasionally scratch my battle royale itch with PUBG. However, I stumbled across a super wholesome reel of a streamer playing Fortnite, wearing the Jinu skin. There were only two players left, then the Jinu player spotted the other final player, and shortly after realized they were wearing the Rumi skin. After some adorable interactions, hugging it out, and offering up their sword for Rumi, the Jinu player sacrificed their self to give Rumi the win. I immediately knew this would be the inspiration behind my April PGB offerings. It was super cute and then made wholly even better when I saw the reverse view reel a little later from the Rumi streamer's POV. 🥹

Hey y'all! (Farewell to polishes NOT FFL!) If you haven't seen from other makers yet, unfortunately the black flakies everyone loves (like those in True Crime & Chill and At Least I'm Flying) have been discontinued by the manufacturer. I do have a fairly small amount left in my supply stash, however, I have other plans for them. This means it was time to move the beloved thermals with the black flakies into the Low Stock (1-5 bottles left) Collection on the site. As a kid, I had the privilege of spending some of my elementary years going to a school comprised of wonderful culturally diverse children while my family was stationed overseas. For years I took it for granted. I didn't understand how uncommon such an experience was, to be introduced to so many kids who looked different from me, ate or believed differently, celebrated different holidays, spoke various languages, etc. They were just my classmates, my friends. 🥹 As I have aged, I am so grateful to have been shaped by it. For having such an early first-hand experience of seeing the beauty in diversity. For the knowledge that we're all human, all wanting to love, grow, and be safe.

When I approached my Persian American friend looking for some insight for this polish, I was absolutely delighted with how much he shared about the history of his people, things I was never taught in school due to western bias. We talked about their tenacity, their contributions to science and mathematics, the fact that Persia was the first multi-ethnic empire, and so much more.

For The Only Difference, while I drew inspiration from a recent post by poet/artist for the name of the polish, the colors were influenced by Persian history and my friend wanted to share some of that with y'all too.

"Inspired by the regal colors associated with the ancient Sasanian Empire (224-651), the blend of deep purple and luminous gold reflects a legacy of power, sophistication, and prestige. In Persian history, purple garments were often worn by nobility, symbolizing authority and divine favor, while gold represented wealth and glory. Together, these colors echo the grandeur of imperial banners and the majestic purple coats worn by Persian rulers."

I know I can speak for us both when thanking each of you for the love and support offered for this polish, but more importantly for the Persian people.

I am struggling on how to write this as the many emotions connected to it feel impossible to name. I want to use my voice and platform, I want to speak from my heart, I want to be vulnerable and loud, I want to make a difference, even if it's just for one person! Then I pause my typing, torn on how to proceed, and in the silence of my fingers hovering above my phone, I can almost hear my heart break as silent tears run down my face.

Why are we living in a world where I even have the thought to create something like this? It's stunningly beautiful, one of my favorite creations ever and yet I hate it's main purpose. Why do I feel called to create something to loudly protest the unaliving of people, of children?! Why is this something that even needs to be voiced?! Why isn't this universal knowledge?!

Needing to express my emotions about all the awful things happening in the world and wanting to do SOMETHING, I recently approached a Persian (Iranian) American friend of mine. Initially just looking for some perspective, I accidentally (?) roped him into creating a polish with me, and in the process got a minute but beautiful glimpse into some of the history of his homeland. I think he was also a little surprised by how involved he found himself in the process. 🥹 Stay tuned for a post tomorrow going deeper into our inspiration!

This is 'The Only Difference', a clear-based polish bursting with rich, royal purple mini glitters, small dazzling gold glitters, and sparkling gold/silver reflective glitter, enchanted further with a regal blue/purple/red/orange/gold multichrome shimmer.

I know March's Feathered Hope is arriving a bit later than normal so I appreciate the patience. Having said that, with a few months under our belt, I feel I am learning and thinking of ways to slightly adjust how the Feathered Hope polishes will function. So before the intro, here's some new details for Feathered Hope going forward:

• Releases

FH launches will be around the 26th of the month prior to the FH's assigned month. (ie: April's will drop around March 26th).

• No More Month-Only Availability/Donations & Batch Sizes

I hate FOMO and try to avoid it as much as possible. I am well aware supporting FFL is a luxury not everyone can afford monthly, despite the various FH causes being something you'd love to support. So while FH will stay monthly, I will not remove previous listings right away.

Unless otherwise dictated by low-availability ingredients, each FH will drop with an initial "large" (still fairly small compared to larger brands) batch, and I will continue to make more as needed throughout the month. AFTER the initial month of the FH release, NO new batches will be made, but the listing will remain available until sold out or until 6 months is up, at which point any remaining inventory will be moved to Mysteries. Donations FFL makes will include ANY remaining inventory at the time the donation is made.

Hey y'all! Don't mind me emerging from my burrow with a few posts and announcements. I apologize for my relative silence lately other than some reposts and comments here and there. I know I'm not alone in struggling to balance things more than "normal" as of late. I hope that in spite of everything, you've each been able to take some time for self-care. Refueling our hearts, bodies & souls is important work, too. Hopefully this post will give you a little boost!

This week I tallied and made our January & February donations from the various charity opportunities and polishes. Once again I am beyond amazed by your generosity!

First, for the overall fundraiser where we were donating $1 for every item sold to , we raised $167!

January and February are, generally speaking, some of my slowest months of the year, but y'all absolutely showed up to help so many! Knowing how much is still happening in Minnesota, despite coverage, I'm going to start another "$1 per item sold" fundraiser for March - April that will be benefiting .

🦊🦊🦊 Hey y'all, I had a creative spark when I saw a friend in need, so it's surprise impromptu charity polish time!

This is Salty Fox, a pepper gray crushed holo base polish with a sly red/copper/gold/lime multichrome shimmer, which will be benefitting , a local non-profit run by my really talented and awesome tattoo artist, Kayla!

Salty Fox is available NOW for $11 on the FFL site (🔗 in bio). FFL will be donating $3 per bottle sold to Salty Fox Sanctuary.

"At Salty Fox Sanctuary, our mission is to rescue foxes from the fur trade and provide a lifelong safe haven for captive-bred red foxes who cannot survive in the wild. We are committed to giving each fox the dignity, care, and enrichment they deserve while rasing awareness about the realities of the fur industry and inspiring compassion through education and advocacy."

On top of having to recently fund new fencing for the foxes to meet USDA guidelines, Kayla is now in need of some emergency fundraising as Keri, a dear friend of hers and another kind soul in the fox community, recently passed away. Keri had two foxes, Sophie and Diesel, whom Keri wanted to go to Kayla. Determined to honor Keri's wishes, and keep her promise to take them in, and despite having just had spinal surgery this past August, Kayla is preparing to make a trip to bring Sophie and Diesel home but needs our help!

Seeing as it's still February as well, don't forget that FFL is donating an additional $1 for EVERY item sold this month to to help send support to MN. So far we've raised almost $100 for MIRAC!

Hey y'all! I am so appreciative of all the love and support you've sent our way as we continue to work together on raising funds for ! We're nearing $50 raised for MIRAC and almost $20 raised for .

I'm starting to work on fulfilling orders today and tomorrow. However, in solidarity, we're joining the nationwide general strike/shutdown planned for the 30th. The FFL site will be back up and available on Jan. 31st.

While we are very aware not everyone has the ability to participate in the general strike, if you can, please do!
