Progesterone calms.

Ladies, you may need more progesterone.

It is normally produced by the Corpus Luteum. This is the "egg shell" that is left when you ovulate each month. It produces progesterone to prepare your body to get pregnant.

Progesterone rises in the last half of your cycle (the luteal phase) until your body figures out you are not pregnant. Then, your progesterone falls and your period starts.

This can lead to mood changes.

When your progesterone drops, you do not have the benefit of its calming properties.

Progesterone acts as a calming hormone in your body. It converts to pregnenolone, which acts on GABA receptors. THESE ARE THE SAME RECEPTORS THAT XANAX ACTS ON.

Progesterone has been called "nature's xanax." I think xanax should be called "pharma progesterone." Except xanax is addictive. Progesterone is healthy.

YOU NEED MAGNESIUM.

WHY WALMART MAGNESIUM SUPPLEMENTS WON'T DO THE JOB:

There are 8 types of magnesium.

Magnesium Oxide is the type that is in most run-of-the-mill supplements. Why? It is the cheapest form. The problem is that magnesium oxide is only 4% bioavailable. For every 100 mg of magnesium, your body will only be able to absorb about 4 mg of that.

Magnesium glycinate is a much better option. It is about 30% bioavailable.

There are other kinds of magnesium that are great, but they serve different purposes. Magnesium citrate is great, but it will act as a laxative. It will make you 💩.

Try supplementing with magnesium glycinate to sleep better and feel more calm.

YOU NEED MAGNESIUM.

Routine labs do not show magnesium deficiency (unless you are so deficient you are about to keel over). Most magnesium is stored in the red blood cells or bone, so your routine serum (blood) test is not a good test to show magnesium deficiency.

Magnesium deficiency causes issues such as insomnia, anxiety, elevated blood pressure, restless legs, cramps, and bone loss.

Magnesium is a foundational nutrient. Our soils are stripped with modern farming. You probably aren't getting enough magnesium in your diet.

Ladies, here is why one set of labs will not give most of you a clear picture of what your hormones are doing.

Our progesterone, estrogen, FSH, and LH rise and fall throughout the month.
