This edition highlights some exciting recent milestones, including our Accessibility Innovation Partner of the Year recognition from Abilities First, the success of Hudson Valley Gives, the start of wheelchair lift construction, summer camp opportunities, volunteer needs, and more.

We did it! 🎉
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we officially surpassed our fundraising goal for our wheelchair lift project and all associated installation costs.
We’re excited to share that construction is now underway, and we expect to have a fully wheelchair-accessible workshop by the end of July. This project represents an important step in making our space more welcoming and accessible to clients, volunteers, students, and visitors.
To everyone who donated, shared our campaign, created a fundraiser, or helped spread the word during Hudson Valley Gives—thank you. This achievement belongs to all of us.
And of course, once the lift is complete, we’ll be celebrating! Stay tuned for details on a community open house and accessibility celebration at the shop.

📢 Registration is now open!

Join Adaptive Design Hudson Valley on Saturday, June 27, from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM for our Level 1 Continuing Education Course designed for Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants.

This hands-on course introduces participants to adaptive design, cardboard carpentry, and creative problem-solving. Upon completion, participants will receive 4 continuing education credits.

Whether you’re looking to expand your clinical toolkit, explore low-cost adaptive solutions, or gain hands-on fabrication experience, this course is a great place to start.

Summer Camp registration is officially open at Adaptive Design Hudson Valley! ☀️

This summer we are excited to offer two hands-on camps for middle school age students:

3D Printing Camp
Kingston Artists Downhill Derby Building Camp

Both camps are beginner-friendly and centered around creativity, collaboration, problem solving, and hands-on fabrication. Campers will learn new skills while exploring how art, design, and accessibility can come together in exciting ways.

Space is limited and registration is first come, first serve.
