🎉🎉 Today we celebrate Emma as she officially completes her music therapy internship with and prepares for the board certification exam!! 🎉🎉

“This internship has been life-changing for me. It challenged me, shaped me, and helped me grow not only as a future music therapist, but also as a person. It gave me confidence in my abilities and confirmed that this is truly the work I am meant to do.”

Throughout her internship, Emma completed clinical experiences across a wide range of settings and populations, contributed to outreach and community programs, facilitated workshops, developed interventions, and facilitated sessions with clients, groups, and their families and caregivers. 🎸

We are incredibly proud of all of her hard work and growth throughout this journey and cannot wait to see what comes next for Emma!! ✨

May is Williams Syndrome Awareness Month 💙

This month, Abigail wanted to help educate others about Williams Syndrome by sharing parts of her experience, ways others can show kindness and support, and what she wants the community to know. Abigail created this presentation during Music Therapy to help educate advocate for others.

We were honored to be part of celebrating the staff at Newport Hospital during their Patient Experience Week 💙

Rebecca DePumpo, MT-BC, and URI Music Therapy practicum student, Chelsea, provided music and information about Music Therapy throughout the day. We are grateful for our collaboration and for all the work happening across the hospital.

☀️ Our team had the wonderful opportunity to travel to Tallahassee, Florida for specialized NICU Music Therapy training at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare - TMH with the NICU Music Therapy team State University 🌴

Our staff returned feeling even MORE inspired and prepared to continue expanding our mission to increase access to these services here in Rhode Island-especially for our smallest clients and their families 🍼💙

We are grateful for the support that made this possible and would like to give a very special thank you to Ciele and Hannah for their coordination and support! ✨
