⚠️ ATTENTION WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY RESIDENTS ⚠️

Did you know the Williamsburg County Council is meeting THIS MONDAY, June 1, 2026 at 5:45 PM at 201 W. Main Street, Kingstree? They posted on their website at 10 pm and again on Facebook at 8 am.

Here is what is on the agenda that affects YOU:

💰 PROPOSED $25 VEHICLE TAX FEE

Ordinance No. 2026-05 proposes a $25 public safety fee added to your vehicle taxes to fund an additional ambulance. This is on its 2nd reading.
This fee would affect EVERY vehicle owner in Williamsburg County.

☀️ SOLAR COMPANY AGREEMENT - 3RD AND FINAL READING

Ordinance No. 2026-03 is on its 3rd reading and up for adoption. This is an agreement between Williamsburg County and Georgetown County involving Silicon Ranch, a solar development company that has settled lawsuits related to water runoff. We encourage residents to look them up and do their own research. Once this ordinance is adopted, it becomes final. they have already developed over 2000 acres of timberland in Lambertown SC and now wanting to expand that acreage.

🚨 ONE MORE THING worth noting on Monday’s agenda,

The council has also scheduled an Executive Session — meaning CLOSED DOORS, no public allowed — to receive legal advice on the proper use of tax revenue and expenditure of funds.
This is happening on the SAME night they are voting on a new $25 fee and finalizing the Silicon Ranch agreement.

Why does the county need a lawyer to tell them how to properly spend YOUR tax money?
