One last post from 3rd annual fall flash event.

This is a perfect example of why line weight matters in tattooing.

Fine line tattoos can look incredibly delicate and crisp when they’re fresh, but as a tattoo heals, the ink naturally settles into the skin and the lines soften. Over time, very fine details can become less defined.

With bolder linework, there’s more ink density and stronger visual separation between each element. That allows the design to maintain its structure and readability as it ages.

When I’m designing a tattoo, I’m not only thinking about how it looks the day it’s tattooed, I’m thinking about how those lines will work together years down the road.
