This past Saturday, Northern Lights Day Program took part in our monthly Saturday outing with a trip to the Kansas City Zoo. Individuals enjoyed exploring exhibits, seeing a variety of animals, and spending time together with peers and staff throughout the day. Monthly outings like these provide opportunities for community involvement, social interaction, recreation, and new experiences in a fun and supportive environment.

This is our weekly volunteer crew from Northern Lights day treatment program. Every week they come to the Pantry and sweep our floors, wipe down our coolers, dust the shelves, and do other odd jobs. One of their favorite things to do is to portion out dog food so that we can distribute it to households.

Saturday was our Day trip. We voted and Scotties fun spot won the race! Each one of us had a blast playing all the games and picking out the prizes with their points. We did run out of time and was not able to go ride go carts or bumper cars. No one wanted to stop playing the games. lol A lot of smiles from all.

Wow what a week! Lots of volunteering at the Pantry of Adair county, Adair County Public Library and Salvation Army. sometimes we forget even the small things we do have big impacts in our community.
Many walks were had this past week to work on our physical health and community socialization.
We ended our week with a movie day in Macon with Sunflower Meadows, The Depot and Shared visions! We all had a blast today!
