I’ll let you in on a little secret. I have tattooed people that are darker than you, that are physically stronger, more feminine, have longer hair than you do, that grew up where their people originated from, that were taught more tradition. And guess what, they’ve all felt something similar to what you’ve felt all your life.
Funny that that these people with so much power behind them don’t feel it. ESPECIALLY if you’re a woman. I don’t think that’s a coincidence, that’s generations of brainwashing. You feel weak if you have doubt and disconnection from who you are. It’s easier to control people who feel that way.
You can always find your way back home and reclaim it, and your community will be stronger for it. It’s an inside job. There’s enough hate and criticism out there to last you a lifetime, take this in instead. That quiet little voice that is centered in self compassion is true, surrender to it.
