🏖️ BEACH or ⛰️ MOUNTAINS?
While both are great ways to stay active, they challenge your feet in very different ways.
🏖️ Walking on sand forces the muscles in your feet, ankles, and lower legs to work harder because the surface is constantly shifting beneath you. This can help improve strength and balance, but it may also increase strain on the feet and ankles if you have arthritis, neuropathy, or existing foot pain.
⛰️ Hiking on uneven terrain places more pressure on your joints and requires stability with every step. Proper footwear is essential to help reduce the risk of slips, falls, blisters, and overuse injuries.
No matter where your feet take you, paying attention to changes like swelling, wounds, numbness, pain, or balance issues can help prevent bigger problems down the road.
