What’re you up to on this first rainy day?

The rain seems to encourage us to be inside. It feels like a resting day, but also like canning and kitchen project season is upon us.

It smells terrific outside, and the cool air feels fantastic when there’s a break in the rain.

I’m the only one here!

No vendor turnout for the evening market today. I’m going to forgo setting up the booth and just let kids play for a bit. But I still have plenty of goodies in the cooler 🙂

We’ll probably only stick around for a little bit, and reminder that there’s no Grangeville Cloninger’s delivery this week. So if you need to get your cheese fix, swing by after work!

We have some important dates coming up that we want you to know about

Today, Tuesday Sept 1:
the last evening Grangeville farmers market of the season - we’ll be there with our new cheesecake chevre, all of our other milk, cheese, and kefir, and some local produce

Thursday, Sept 3:
local delivery to Kamiah and KOOSKIA!! This is our first delivery to the Kooskia store 🙂

Tuesday, Sept 8:
Deliveries to Vig’s Health Foods in Lewiston and Moscow Co-op

Wednesday, Sept 9:
✨Delivery AND Baby Goat Meet n Greet✨ at Pilgrim’s Market in Coeur d’Alene. If you missed the first one, you won’t want to miss this one. We’ll be giving out samples and have Cajeta and Tea Cup with us for baby goat snuggles.

Thursday, Sept 10:
✨Idaho Preferred Night at the Moscow Food Co-op✨
Come meet your local food producers (including us) and try samples of local grown goods

Monday, Sept 14: local deliveries to Kamiah, Kooskia, and Grangeville Cloninger’s

Friday, Sept 18: Deliveries to Vig’s, Moscow Co-op, and Pilgrim’s Market

New flavor of chevre this week!

Our signature chevre topped with from-scratch spelt graham cracker crumbs and house made cajeta caramel sauce.

Tangy. Creamy. Sweet. Crunchy.

The perfect dessert in one pretty package.

Cheesecake chevre will be trialing the next couple of weeks to see if it sticks around. Be sure to let us know what you think 😎

EDIT TO ADD: this is only for farmers markets and farm pickup for now. We need to gather feedback before it moves into stores 🙂

Running a farm with kids:

I’m inside pulling cheese to drain and realized I hadn’t heard from the 5yo or 18mo old for a couple minutes. So I step outside.

‘Buddy!’

‘Yeah mom’

‘Do you have sissy?’

‘Yeah. She’s in the kennel!’

Inside the newborn goat kennel is one of her favorite places to be 😂

Jemima has ducked (lol) under the fence and been found in the garden twice now.

If Jemima doesn’t cut it out, we’re going to start calling it ‘pre-seasoning herself for dinner’

Goat milk doesn’t make the best mozzarella (or maybe I’m just bad at it 😅)

After sitting in the brine to salt and firm up overnight, the boccocini are drier than I’d like. I think in the future I’ll make this salad with regular squeaky cheese curds and get a similar effect

The flavor is out of this world, and the tiny tomatoes are bursting with summer 😋
