🤝 Polyvagal Pasture: Somatic Regulation Through Equine Interactions 🐎✨
We live in a fast-paced world that rarely rewards rest, leaving many of us with nervous systems stuck in chronic activation. Join EMBARK LLC for a 3-hour experiential workshop where we will partner with the herd to map, understand, and somatically regulate our nervous systems using equine feedback, mindfulness practices, and polyvagal principles.
🌿 Why Partner with the Herd?
As prey animals, horses naturally live in a state of heightened awareness, constantly attuned to their environment. Yet, evolution has gifted them with incredible, innate strategies to fully complete the stress cycle. They release tension the moment a threat passes thus not storing stress in their bodies. This allows them to seamlessly return to a present and parasympathetic state of rest, digest, and graze.
Human burnout so often stems from being stuck in a sympathetic "fight or flight" response, horses can teach us how to move through stress, showing up with real-time congruence and authenticity.
🧠 What You Will Learn & Practice:
🧩The Science of the Nervous System: Gain a clear understanding of the autonomic nervous system and how to navigate between sympathetic (activation) and parasympathetic (restoration) states.
🐎Mindfulness in Motion: Practice grounding and mindfulness exercises right alongside the herd, learning to observe your internal environment while staying present with external stimuli.
💫Completing the Stress Cycle: Learn intentional somatic techniques using breath, body awareness, and equine co-regulation to process and release held tension rather than letting it turn into chronic burnout.
The Dual Nature of Breath: Explore how every inhale energizes and activates our system, while every exhale offers release, mastering the natural rhythm between activation and rest.
Stress itself isn't the enemy. Stress can give us drive, energy, and motivation. The magic happens when we build intentional, mindful practices that allow our nervous systems to complete the cycle and return home to calm.
