Today is World Su***de Prevention Day.
Every conversation, every check-in, and every simple "How are you, really?” can matter more than we know.
Sometimes, people who are struggling don't know how to ask for help or may not feel comfortable saying what they're going through. That's why reaching out matters. A text, a phone call, or simply sitting with someone can remind them that they don't have to face everything alone.
If you're struggling, please reach out. In the U.S., you can call or text 988 to connect with the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.
If you're worried about someone else, it's okay to ask directly: “Are you thinking about suicide?” Asking doesn't plant the idea. It opens a door for an honest conversation and allows someone to be heard.
You don't need to have the perfect words. Sometimes, being there is the most important thing you can do.
Today and every day, let's check in, listen without judgment, and remind the people around us that their lives matter. 🌿
