Illinois Association of Free and Charitable Clinics Equitable and high quality healthcare customized for the low income residents of Illinois

https://linktr.ee/iafcc

Free and charitable clinics provide essential primary medical and dental services, prescription medicine and access to diagnostic and hospital services for over 40,000 Illinoisans.

• There are over 50 free and charitable clinics in Illinois with combined
budgets of $50 million, including $18 million of in kind pharmaceuticals.
• Free and charitable clinics rely on private donations, non-gover

nmental
grants, volunteers and donated goods and services.
• So far, health reform has not considered free and charitable clinics, increasing their vulnerability.
• Medicaid cuts will lead more patients to depend on free and charitable clinics for essential health services. The IAFCC works toward a culturally and linguistically appropriate healthcare environment that provides free or affordable, high-quality health services that promote the elimination of health disparities among uninsured and underserved populations

What better way to wrap up Free & Charitable Clinics Month than with a smile? 😁

For August’s final , we’re celebrating Smile Savers of the Tisdale-Woods Foundation! 🦷🪥

All month, we’ve had the privilege of highlighting some of the incredible organizations and people who make the Illinois free and charitable clinic community so special. And Smile Savers is a wonderful reminder of the heart behind this work: the people who show up, build relationships, and care deeply about their communities.

To everyone behind Smile Savers and the Tisdale-Woods Foundation, thank you for the care and dedication you bring to your work. We’re happy to close out this month by celebrating you! 💙✨

While we’ve been fortunate to highlight so many wonderful clinics this month, they represent only a small part of the incredible network of clinics, staff, volunteers, and healthcare professionals who show up every day to provide compassionate care in communities across Illinois.

To all the clinics we’ve featured this month: THANK YOU for letting us share a little piece of your story! 🎉🎊🪅

A warm thank you to State Senator Laura Murphy and State Representative Justin Cochran for supporting free and charitable clinics and the communities they serve. We’re truly grateful for their commitment to helping expand access to care for Illinoisans who need it most. 💙

Our clinic coordinator, Bill McKinley, attended a recent townhall meeting held by IL Representative Justin Cochran and IL State Senator Laura Murphey. These political figures were on the allocation committees that approved the 2027 budget awarded to the Illinois Association of Free and Charitable Clinics. Bill was there to publicly thank them for their support that will help connect dental professionals to patients without access to care.

💫 Here’s a resource worth sharing during CHW Awareness Week! 💫

A free report from Health Management Associates explores how health information reaches and flows through Community Health Workers (CHWs) in Cook County, and identifies opportunities to build stronger connections among CHWs, healthcare providers, public health agencies, community organizations, and the people they serve.

While we’re celebrating CHWs this week, we invite our clinic partners, community organizations, and others across Illinois to take a look, share what you learn, and keep the conversation going about how we can better support the people doing this essential work. 💙
