Professional dermaplaning and a facial razor are not the same thing.

Want smoother skin and better product absorption without creating micro-tears and irritation?
Leave dermaplaning to a trained professional. 🤍

The best part? Dermaplaning can be added to many of my facial treatments for an instantly smoother, brighter complexion.

3 Prime Day Deals I Actually Recommend

Not every skincare-related item on Amazon is worth buying, but these are three that I genuinely like and would recommend.

💚Mighty Mist (hypochlorous acid spray)
💚Cryo Globes (or other cryo tools, like an ice roller)
💚Silk Pillowcase

Simple tools that can help calm the skin, reduce irritation, support your skincare routine, and make your skin a little happier.

Your skin sends signals when it may be craving hydration.

That tight feeling, the sudden appearance of fine lines, the dullness, makeup not sitting right.

The good news? Dehydrated skin isn’t a skin type—it’s a condition, and with the right daily care, it can often be improved.

Not sure what products suit your skin during summer? Book a skincare consultation and get personalized recommendations for healthier, more hydrated skin. 🤍

Acne is often blamed on the wrong things.

Poor cleansing. Chocolate. Not drinking enough water.

The reality is that acne begins long before a breakout appears on the surface of the skin. Genetics, oil production, skin cell turnover, inflammation, hormones, and many other factors can influence how acne develops.

Understanding the “why” behind acne helps replace myths with science and allows for a more strategic approach to treatment.

Acne rarely follows a straight line, which is why education, patience, and ongoing assessment matter

Want to better understand your skin? Let’s start with a conversation. Book a consultation through the link in bio. 🤍

Every client. Every color. Every skin story. 🌈

A space where you are seen, respected, and cared for — exactly as you are.

Pride Month is a reminder that inclusive spaces are not optional, they are essential.

This treatment room has always been, and will always be, one of them.
Expert care, tailored to your skin.

A space where you can fully exhale.

Happy Pride Month! ✨

Sunscreen does more than just protect your skin from sunburn. It helps protect against premature aging, pigmentation, collagen breakdown, and skin cancer caused by daily UV exposure.

If you want to age less, daily sunscreen is non-negotiable.

The problem is that sunscreen misinformation is everywhere right now. One person says mineral only. Another says chemical sunscreen is toxic. Someone else says SPF 100 is the answer. Meanwhile, most people are left confused and either overthinking sunscreen… or avoiding it completely.

The reality is that sunscreen is not one-size-fits-all. Your skin type, lifestyle, daily exposure, activity level, sensitivity, pigmentation concerns, and even how your skin tolerates certain textures all matter when choosing the right SPF.

For some people, mineral sunscreen is the perfect daily option. For others, a chemical sunscreen may work better for outdoor activities, sweating, or water exposure. Sometimes the best approach is having both.

Your perfect sunscreen does exist. It simply has to fit your skin and your real life.

If you feel overwhelmed by sunscreen choices, schedule a skincare consultation and get guidance on finding the right SPF for your skin, lifestyle, and long-term skin goals. ✨

Ever wonder why your skin is not responding the way it should — despite using skincare products and staying consistent?

The skin does not function separately from the rest of the body.

The endocrine system produces over 50 different hormones, many of which directly influence what we see on the skin.

Sebaceous glands within the skin contain sebocytes — specialized cells responsible for oil production. These cells contain androgens and cortisol receptors, which means hormones like testosterone and stress hormones directly influence oil production, inflammation, and acne activity.

Collagen is also hormonally influenced.
Fibroblasts — the cells responsible for collagen synthesis — contain estrogen receptors. This helps explain why women can experience a more rapid loss of collagen during perimenopause and menopause, when estrogen levels begin to decline.

Hormonal pigmentation is also another challenge.
On top of responding to UV rays, melanocytes (pigment cells) also respond to melanocyte-stimulating hormone (MSH), which helps explain why conditions like melasma can become more difficult to treat when underlying hormones are imbalanced.

At Pure Glow Esthetics, treatments are designed by looking beyond the surface and understanding the internal and external factors influencing your skin.

May 4 is Melanoma Monday, and May is Melanoma Awareness Month— a reminder to actually look at your skin and notice what’s there.

Changes can be subtle, especially with moles.
It’s not about overthinking—it’s about recognizing when something stands out.

As an esthetician, I’m trained to recognize patterns and changes in the skin.
If something stands out, I recommend having it evaluated by a dermatologist.

At home: If you notice anything new, changing, or just different from the rest, it’s worth getting checked.

And yes, annual skin exams with a dermatologist are a must.
Because healthy skin isn’t just about appearance—it’s about paying attention to changes.
