Today we pause to honor Ganzer Roland — a World War II veteran who came home from service and spent the rest of his life fighting a different kind of battle. The fight for his son's right to belong.

In 1960, Ganzer and his wife founded The Roland Center because Gunner deserved a life, not a waiting room. What they built became a community, an accredited organisation, and a home for hundreds of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities over the past 65 years.

On Memorial Day, we remember those who served. We also remember what some of them came home and built — quietly, determinedly, out of love.

Thank you, Ganzer. And thank you to all who served.

We'd like to introduce you to Gary - our Safety Officer.

Please observe the posted speed limits while on-site. Gary is watching.

In all seriousness, this is what it looks like when an organization genuinely commits to building around the people it serves. When someone arrives with a passion, a strength, a role they were born to fill, the job isn't to manage it. It's to make room for it.

Gary keeps us all safe, accountable, and honestly- a little more entertained. We wouldn't have it any other way.

Thank you Gary!

This past weekend, we took The Last Stamp to Phoenix, Arizona, for the 34th Annual Education Conference of the Developmental Disabilities Nurses Association.

Dr. Thomas Buckley, Koji, and Antony Talia, made the drive on a Friday night to present the film to a room of hundreds of nurses and medical professionals who dedicate their lives to serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Koji was extraordinary. He stood in front of that room and spoke for himself, clearly and with confidence. It was a reminder of what self-advocacy looks like in practice, and why creating space for it matters.

Thank you to the DDNA for the invitation, and to ICareManager for making the trip possible.

We left Phoenix very proud and hopeful for the future.

Last Monday, members of our Community Based Opportunities Program (CBO) went to visit The Natural History Museum Of Los Angeles County.

It was a wonderful day of immersion and integration for the group. Everyone expressed what a wonderful time they had!

From taking pictures to show family, to just wandering and soaking it in…

This is just one way we support our individuals. Helping them gain access to the wider community, so they can also enjoy what so many others take for granted.

Can’t wait for the next daytrip!

A little throwback to February of this year!

Huge thank you to our wonderful board member Cathryn Lam, for inviting members of our community to the Vietnamese Employees Association of Los Angeles County's 2026 Tết (Vietnamese Lunar New Year) celebration.

What a fabulous evening of celebration, great food, amazing entertainment and the best company we could have asked for.

Cathryn, we appreciate all that you do for us and your tireless efforts to support our mission.

Don't you wish your board members were as fabulous as ours? 🤭
