🫱🏼🫲🏽June is national cancer survivorship month, but we don’t stop there! Cancer care and support is an ongoing daily practice that never ends.
🧘♀️There really isn’t ONE thing, but one extremely IMPORTANT DAILY HABIT to prioritize is to engage in regular physical activity, tailored to your abilities and energy levels.
🏋️Exercise has been shown to have a profound impact on reducing cancer risk, improving post-cancer recovery, and reducing cancer recurrence by promoting physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Regular movement can help cancer thrivership:
⚡️Boost energy: It combats fatigue and restores stamina.
🥰Improve mood: Physical activity releases endorphins, which reduce stress and anxiety.
💪Enhance body image: It helps with regaining strength and improving confidence, as well as restoring healthy body composition.
🤗Increase quality of life: It improves sleep, reduces pain, and can lower the risk of cancer recurrence.
🍽️Promote healthy gut motility, detoxification, and appetite.
🚶♀️Even light activities, such as walking, yoga, or stretching, can have significant benefits. It’s important to start slow and listen to your body, working with knowledgeable healthcare providers to create a safe, personalized routine.
