Let’s talk about pediatric sleep health! 2 hours of recording … so fun!!

A podcast with Dr. Felix Liao, Dr. Tony Bolamperti, and Patrick McKeown?! Grateful for the opportunity to share this experience with the absolute giants in airway health! 🙏🏽

As speakers at the ASBA First Global Pediatric Symposium, we just recorded a podcast at Dr. Howard Farran’s Dentistry Uncensored studio—home to an incredible community of 240,000 in dentistry. An amazing experience that truly reaffirmed I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.

MYOFUNCTIONAL SCIENCE, also known as orofacial myology, is the study of the muscles of the face and jaws and their role in essential functions such as breathing, eating, and swallowing. While it centers on personalized, targeted exercises, the field is grounded in EDUCATION and PREVENTION, emphasizing proper breathing patterns, tongue posture, and swallowing mechanics to reduce the risk of orofacial disorders.

Highlighting the unique and Chiral role dental hygienists play in comprehensive preventive dentistry, supporting both orofacial health and oral-systemic health —- promoting optimal development, and contributing to improved overall health outcomes.

I’m so excited and happy about the upcoming ASBA Annual Meeting in Phoenix, especially the Inaugural Global Pediatric Symposium. We have amazing speakers coming from Mayo Clinic all the way to Australia, and I feel grateful and honored to be part of this meeting. 🙏❤️🙌

This conversation is especially important because pediatric sleep health matters, and there is only a short window to influence craniofacial growth and airway development in ways that can improve health from childhood into adulthood. By supporting healthy airway development early, we can help reduce the public burden of sleep apnea while also improving health span and life span.
