☕️ Coffee, Connections & Exciting News for St. Landry Parish!

Last week, we had the pleasure of attending Coffee with the CEO, hosted by St. Landry Bank, where we enjoyed connecting and networking with so many wonderful businesses and community leaders throughout St. Landry Parish.

The highlight of the morning was welcoming someone especially dear to us — Dr. De’Angellica Vaughn-Allen, Infectious Disease Physician, to Opelousas! 🩺💙

It is always special to see one of our own return to serve the community that helped shape them, and we are so excited to have Dr. Vaughn-Allen bringing her expertise to Opelousas. Having an Infectious Disease specialist in our area is incredibly needed and such wonderful news for our community and the patients we serve.

Dr. Vaughn-Allen holds a special place in our hearts — which made getting to welcome her back even sweeter! ❤️

We also truly enjoyed the opportunity to network, strengthen relationships, and connect with the many great businesses and organizations that make St. Landry Parish such a special community.

Welcome back, Dr. Vaughn-Allen! We are so happy to have you here! 🎉

🌟 Happy Juneteenth!! 🌟

Today, we celebrate Juneteenth, a day of freedom, resilience, and progress. As we reflect on the journey toward equality, we also honor Estelle Massey Osborne, a trailblazer in nursing who shattered racial barriers and paved the way for Black nurses across the country.

Born in Texas, Osborne became the first Black nurse to earn a master's degree in nursing education. She fought tirelessly to eliminate racial discrimination in healthcare, ensuring that Black nurses had opportunities to serve and lead. Her work helped integrate nursing schools and military nursing programs, opening doors for generations to come.

On this day of reflection and celebration, let’s remember the courage of those who fought for freedom—both on the battlefield and in the fight for equality in every profession. Happy Juneteenth! ❤💛💚
