▫️soon I’ll be approaching my 500 hours of teaching at aveda institute of arts & sciences.
▫️this means I’ll be taking my state board exams, which includes a written and practical test. If I pass, i receive my official license to be an educator in the esthetics field!
▫️now it’s time to put MYSELF to the test! 🤓
▫️this career change has been a crazy journey and I couldn’t love it more. I also wouldn’t have made it this far without my girl 💕 thank you for all that you do for me and the students!

▫️the opinions of others typically doesn’t matter.
▫️however, when they are opinions from coworkers, your ears seem to perk up a bit.
▫️at aveda institute, our faculty is not just a staff, we are a team. a team that cares about one another. we care about one another’s personal development and growth.
▫️while my back was turned, each one of my team members wrote a word that they felt described me best.
▫️when I turned around to read the mirror, my mind was blown.
▫️not only did they compliment me, but they built me up. I’ve never even heard someone say some of these things to me!
▫️I’m so blessed to have a team that has my back, builds me up and carries me through.
▫️once again, aveda institute changes my life for the better on a daily basis.
▫️my cup is constantly filled.

▫️at we have a note system called “daymakers”
▫️anytime someone makes your day or has been a great help to you, you can create a “daymaker” card.
▫️tuesday i had all of my students create a daymaker for someone else. the next morning during our school wide huddle, we would pass them out.
▫️thinking my students had made cards and notes for other students, I was SHOCKED to receive 4 of my own!!!
▫️just receiving these sweet notes MADE MY DAY!
▫️it’s so important to spread positivity and keep these students feeling appreciated! they returned the favor and made ME feel SOOO appreciated!
▫️I love my job and adore my students!
▫️big smiles!!

▫️ever since i graduated from i have bugged the director about getting in as an educator. (like relentlessly for years)
▫️it’s been one of my top goals for so long to get in there and educate future esthetician’s.
▫️year after year i was told either the position had been filled or they weren’t in need of one. mind you, there’s only 2 educators for the entire esthetics program.
▫️WELL GUYS persistence is EVERYTHING because guess what?!
▫️i am FINALLY going to be joining the team as an esthetics educator intern!
▫️first i’ll complete 500 hours of internship under an educator, go take my state board test and become an official educator of aveda institute lafayette!
▫️THRILLED is an understatement and i CANNOT wait to start sharing my experiences, passion and knowledge with my future students!
▫️i told y’all i was going to make 2021 my bitch didn’t i?
▫️work hard, stay consistent and be persistent with what you want. make those goals, do what you gotta do and don’t think for a second that you’re not good enough.
▫️in this esthetics industry, believing in yourself is what’s going to set you sooo far a part from everyone else.

▫️so today i was going through old pictures and videos in my phone and came across some gold.
▫️it truly opened my eyes to how hard i busted my ass when i first opened my business. the fire i had to get content out and share the word on heathy skincare.
▫️y’all i started in my spare bedroom in my apartment. idgaf at all what i had and what i didn’t have. that’s when you know you got the passion and drive to go big.
▫️i had sleepless nights, was battling health problems and losing my mind all while trying to put together AV ESTHETICS.
▫️to be honest, AV ESTHETICS was born out of chaos. i was so all over the place with wild dreams and big ideas.
▫️no one could stop me. to look back at the past two years and to see where it’s lead is just such an awesome feeling.
▫️forever grateful for the people who surrounded me and supported me since day one ESPECIALLY
▫️don’t give up on your dreams. make your dreams a reality and KEEP FIGHTING. stay consistent and plant those seeds.
▫️i love the quote, “the day you plant the seed is the not the day you eat the fruit.” i may still be waiting on some fruits but hell that’s the fun of it.
