Common Botox FAQ's we hear at Swan MD Aesthetics.

What is it?
Botox is a popular, FDA-approved, non-surgical treatment that uses a purified neurotoxin to temporarily relax muscles, softening dynamic wrinkles like frown lines and crow’s feet.

Is it safe?
Botox is safe and FDA-approved, though it should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

How long does it last and how often should I get it?
Typically, results last three to four months, though this varies.
Treatments should be spaced at least 90 days apart.

What should I avoid before treatment?
To minimize bruising, avoid blood-thinning medications and alcohol for roughly a week before.

Is it painful?
Injections use fine needles, resulting in only mild discomfort, often described as a slight sting.

What are the risks?
Temporary side effects can include bruising, redness, soreness, and mild headaches. Rarely, it can cause a temporary droopy brow or eyelid.

BOTOX® Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA) is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe forehead lines, crow's feet, and frown lines between the eyebrows in adults.

There are risks with this product—the effects of BOTOX® Cosmetic may spread hours to weeks after injection causing serious symptoms. HA is a natural substance in the skin; fillers are broken down naturally by the body over time.

💉 How long does filler last?
Results generally last 9–12 months, though some areas or products can last up to 24 months.

💉 Does filler hurt?
Topical anesthetic is applied, and many fillers contain lidocaine to minimize discomfort.
