You made it. Last week of school, finish line in sight…and then somebody gets sick. 🤧
Every parent knows this pattern. You somehow survived every cold and stomach bug that cycled through the classroom all year long, and then right as summer is within reach, it hits. That timing makes a lot more sense than it might seem.
After months of packed schedules, full days, constant stimulation, and very little true downtime, the nervous system and immune system have both been running on a long stretch of demand. And when the body finally gets a signal that things are slowing down, it sometimes takes that as its cue to let everything it's been holding catch up.
That can look like a lingering cough that came out of nowhere, congestion that just won't quit, low energy that no amount of rest seems to touch, or symptoms that show up right as you're trying to celebrate the end of the year. 🥴 The nervous system and immune system are deeply connected. When one has been under consistent demand, the other tends to feel it too!
A few things that help the body reset during this transition - prioritizing actual rest even when summer excitement makes that hard, getting outside for fresh air and movement, staying on top of hydration, and allowing for a genuinely slower pace in those first weeks of summer. ⛅️
Chiropractic care supports how the nervous system coordinates immune function and adapts to stress, helping the body recover from a long school year and build a stronger foundation heading into summer. ⛱️
