Three years after the Maui wildfires, recovery is real — but many health challenges remain.

PBS NewsHour recently visited Maui to highlight the work of MauiWES and the experiences of survivors still navigating the long-term effects of the fires.

For the first time, our longitudinal study is also helping us understand what factors are associated with recovery over time — including housing stability, food security, access to care, and other social and health conditions.
