I don’t just see a “bad hair day”...

I start asking questions!

Is this cat painful? Sick? Losing weight? Struggling with arthritis? Feeling nauseated? Having trouble reaching certain areas to groom?

A cat’s coat can tell us a lot about what’s happening beneath the surface.

That girl who dreamed of helping cats someday could never have imagined this… 💜

Standing on a stage at VETgirl 2026, surrounded by colleagues, friends, and people who care deeply about our profession was incredible.

Of course, ANY time I get to talk about cats, I feel lucky. But, being able to share ideas, evidence-based medicine, successes, and have meaningful conversations about improving feline care truly fills my cup.

This is how I serve the profession I love and the species I love.

Thank you to everyone who joined me for my feline diabetes lecture, and thank you to Royal Canin for sponsoring the breakfast session and supporting veterinary education.

My heart is full. 💜

Quickest, easiest feline exam hack ever!

👋 Once your hands are on the cat, don’t take them off.

That constant contact reduces startle responses and makes the whole exam smoother. If you need to reposition, reach for tools, or get your stethoscope, ask your assistant to help. Just keep that steady, reassuring hand in place!

Submitting an FNA with little to no history is like... handing someone a puzzle with half the pieces missing!

Your pathologist can provide the most valuable interpretation when they understand the WHOLE clinical picture, not just what’s on the slide.

A few extra details on the submission form can make a world of difference!

⚠️ Super easy mistake to make...

Make sure to wipe ALL the gel before your FNA!

Residual ultrasound gel can interfere with cytology samples, so taking a few extra seconds beforehand may save you a lot of frustration later.
