Silique Wellness, Lifestyle Medicine A client centered approach to address the health and well-being of the whole person

Forty seconds of a completely ordinary Tuesday.

Nothing happens. The coffee gets made. Somebody laughs at something off camera. A room gets turned over. The phone rings and gets answered on the second ring, which is honestly the only part of this we are bragging about.

We keep being told healthcare videos are supposed to look a certain way. This is what ours actually looks like.

October is when the deductible conversation gets real.

If you work for yourself, you are about to open the marketplace and pick next year's plan. If you work for someone else, the open enrollment packet is probably already sitting in your inbox. Either way, a lot of people in this county are about to choose a plan with a deductible somewhere north of three thousand dollars.

Here is the part worth understanding before you sign anything. On a high-deductible plan, most of what happens in a normal year comes out of your pocket at full price, because you never get anywhere close to the deductible. The sinus infection in February. The lab work. The visit you talked yourself out of.

That gap is what a membership is for. It sits underneath your plan, not instead of it, and it covers the everyday part at a price you know in advance.

We are not going to tell you which plan to pick. We are not licensed for that and we will not pretend to be. What we can do is show you exactly what your everyday care would cost here, so you can put a real number next to whatever the marketplace or your employer is offering you.

Things that do not require an appointment at Silique:

Catching one of us at the ball field to ask a quick question.
Calling because the thing on your arm is probably nothing but you would rather know.
Texting to say the medication is doing something strange.
Stopping in because you were driving past anyway.
Telling us the good news. Especially that one.

Things that do require an appointment: pretty much just the appointment.

You cannot take a phone call between 8 and 3.

That is the part most people miss about working in a school. It is not that teachers and staff are too busy to see a provider. It is that the whole healthcare system runs during exactly the hours you are not available, and the only way in is to give up a personal day and spend most of it in a waiting room.

We built our schedule around people who cannot leave. Send a message at seven and have an answer before your first block. Call at 3:15 and talk to someone who already knows you. Come in after dismissal instead of burning leave you would rather spend on your own kid's field trip.

You spend all day paying attention to other people's children. Somebody should be paying attention to you.

If you work in a school in Columbia County, come find us. We are not hard to reach, which is sort of the whole point.

"So do I still need insurance?"

Third time this month somebody has asked, and it is exactly the right question to be asking in September.

Short answer: for most people, yes, and we would tell you so.

A Silique membership covers your everyday care. Your provider, your visits, the phone call at seven on a Tuesday, the follow-up nobody billed you for. That is the majority of what health actually looks like in a given year.

What it does not cover is the rare, expensive thing. The surgery. The hospital stay. The accident on the way home. For that you want a plan sitting behind you, and most of our members carry a high-deductible one.

The two are not competing. One handles the ninety-five percent, the other handles the five percent you hope never happens.

If you are looking at plans this fall and trying to work out where a membership fits, ask us. We will give you a straight answer even when the answer is "keep the plan you have."

Call (386) 243-8991.

This is the room. No waiting area full of strangers, no clipboard on a plastic chair, no name called out over a speaker.

Most people who come to us for hormone or weight wellness have already been somewhere else first. They have been told the labs look fine. They have been given fifteen minutes and a suggestion to manage their stress. They walk in a little braced for the same conversation.

It is not the same conversation. We start with what you are actually feeling and work backward toward why, and we have the time to do it properly.

Nothing in this video is dramatic. That is sort of the point.

If you have been putting off asking someone about it, we would be glad to talk it through.

If you have an HSA, one rule changed this year and almost nobody has mentioned it.

Starting in 2026, a direct primary care membership can count as a qualified medical expense. The dollars you already set aside can go toward your membership, and for most arrangements, having one no longer blocks you from contributing to your HSA the way it used to.

The timing is the part worth paying attention to. Right now is when most families and business owners choose next year's plan. If pairing a high-deductible plan with a Silique membership has ever crossed your mind, this is the season that decision actually gets made.

We are not your tax advisor and we will not pretend to be. What we will do is tell you plainly how our membership works, so you can take real numbers to whoever handles your plan.

Call (386) 243-8991 and ask for Kim.

Things we have been asked at the front desk this month, an incomplete list:

"Can I just come in for the IV without a whole membership?" Yes.

"Do y'all take my insurance?" Different question than you think it is. Come ask us.

"Is it weird that I like coming here?" No. That is sort of the goal.

Have questions about our practice? We would love to answer them.

It is 7:40 on a Tuesday. The fever showed up out of nowhere. Your holiday family photo shoot is tomorrow.

You already know how this normally goes. Urgent care, ninety minutes in a waiting room, a stranger reading a chart for the first time, a bill in two weeks.

Or you call, and someone who already knows your kid picks up.

That is the part that is hard to explain about membership care until you have needed it at 7:40 on a Tuesday. Same-day access is not a bullet point on a benefits list. It is the difference between a ruined evening and a five minute conversation.

School is back and ball season is starting. If you want that for your family, let's talk.

"Okay, but how much is it really?"

Second most common question we get, and the answer is the same whether you ask us in the parking lot or on the phone.

Membership starts at $50 a month. That covers your visits, your provider's time, direct access when something comes up, and the follow-through afterward. No copay surprise. No bill three weeks later for a conversation you already had.

We would rather put the number in a post than make you call to find it out. That is sort of the whole point.

Affordable, transparent, predictable. Those are not marketing words around here, they are just how the billing works.

Questions about what your family or your team would actually pay? Call (386) 243-8991.
