Get your boots ready! We are going dancing with some of our Texas friends.

The Montessori behind it: invite participants (our residents) to engage in MEANINGFUL activity (something they enjoy and CHOOSE). A dance partner gives them something to hold (a hand) while cognitively stimulating the brain at their pace. An activity is not about right or wrong, but engagement.

Dementia changes everything. We help. ♥️

As we ramp up more and more of our dementia training this month and next, we know that when our loved ones age, that many times they aren’t just aging normally, but aging with dementia.

Sometimes, that can be a big and scary word that we don’t want to hear or even begin to delve into…it’s exhausting. We have trouble finding a starting point and trouble finding resources to help us navigate the unknown. Our emotions get the best of us and we begin the long walk of processing through so many “what ifs”.

You DONT have to do it alone. We help. ♥️ If you need a phone or help with someone you know…pick up the phone and give us a call. Reach out to us here or come by the building anytime. We help.

Intergenerational care: While it may take us some time to get there with Az updates and regulatory requirements for volunteers…there is nothing more precious than watching these two generations interact and unwind over even the smallest things like building planters, bake club, song groups and community events. It’s easy rest our souls in future generations when we open up their hearts and minds to some of the greatest generations.
