Holistic Family Occupational Therapy, LLC

Holistic Family Occupational Therapy, LLC Holistic Occupational Therapy for the whole family. Specialize in addressing the root cause to emotional, behavioral, and motor imbalances.

In addition to being a pediatric occupational therapist, I am also a mother of two very special boys. My boys were my BEST teachers. I realized very quickly that you don't truly understand parenthood until you are a parent. I have spent the last 10 years training in the MNRI method (Masgutova Neurosensoriomotor Reflex Integration). Learning this method totally changed my children's life path and w

as a game changer in my practice. I have applied my MNRI training with children, adolescents, infants including medically fragile babies, and adults in emotional crisis. I have seen extraordinary changes with my family, friends, and clients and my mission is to continue to help children and their families become their best selves.

The power of positive affirmations goes far beyond words—they help shape beliefs, build confidence, and strengthen resilience. ✨💛💪🧠😁

When children repeatedly hear and say phrases like, “I can do this,” they begin to develop a growth mindset: the belief that challenges can be overcome through effort and perseverance.

In my therapy sessions, I intentionally incorporate positive affirmations to encourage confidence and self-belief. Over time, I witness something amazing: children become more willing to attempt challenging tasks, persist through difficulties, and celebrate their successes.

This video captures a powerful moment. After hearing and practicing the affirmation “You can do this” several times, this child confidently says, “I can do this” before jumping onto the mat.

That simple phrase reflects something much bigger—the development of courage, resilience, and belief in oneself.

Our words matter. The messages children hear today can become the beliefs that guide them tomorrow. 💙

Spotlight on my son ⭐️🥰⭐️

This school year, I’ve witnessed something truly special—what real determination looks like. 🥰📚📓

Collin started the year performing well below average in both math and ELA. But through relentless effort, perseverance, and heart, he pushed himself forward—finishing above average in math and average in ELA on his STAR testing.

What makes this even more meaningful is that he does it all while navigating auditory processing challenges. He has to work twice—sometimes three times—as hard to process, understand, and keep up. And yet, he never gave up. He showed up, stayed committed, and kept pushing through even when it was hard.

This is what growth looks like. This is what resilience looks like. This is what determination looks like.

I am beyond proud of you—not just for your progress, but for your strength, your courage, and your willingness to keep going no matter what.

Keep believing in yourself Collin. You are capable of amazing things. ❤️

Today was Take Your Child to Work Day… and my heart is so full 💛

I had the opportunity to bring my two kids (ages 8 and 12) along to sessions today, and they truly amazed me. Watching them step into my world with such ease, kindness, and confidence was something really special.

They adapted to each child and environment so naturally, showed genuine compassion, and connected in a way that made every session feel even more engaging and fun. Their encouragement and playful energy brought out smiles, laughter, and meaningful moments for my clients.

As both a parent and a pediatric therapist, it was an incredibly proud moment to see these qualities shine through. It reminded me how powerful connection, empathy, and joy are in helping children grow.

Grateful for days like this 💫

There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a child truly take off 💫

After just 2 months of working together, focusing on neuroreflex integration and building confidence:

✨ Now reading at grade level
✨ Thriving in swimming
✨ Mastering cartwheels and handstands
✨ Showing courage on stage in a play
✨ Growing in confidence every single day

Mom shared that something just “clicked”—and that combination of support, movement, and confidence-building helped spark incredible progress.

This is exactly why I do what I do. When we support the whole child—mind, body, and confidence—growth can happen faster than you think.

If your child is struggling with academics or self-confidence, early support can make all the difference. 💛

When behaviors feel overwhelming, it’s often a sign that something deeper needs support—not just correction. 💛

Emotional outbursts, shutdowns, and resistance can be rooted in nervous system dysregulation, stress, or unresolved energetic imbalances. This is where energy therapy can make a powerful difference.

✨ Energy-based approaches help:
• Calm the nervous system
• Release stored emotional stress
• Improve focus and regulation
• Support mind-body balance
• Create a sense of safety and connection

When the body feels safe and regulated, children are better able to learn, engage, and thrive.

I’ve had the honor of supporting families through these challenging seasons, helping children move from frustration and overwhelm into calm, connection, and progress. The shifts can be truly life-changing—not just for the child, but for the whole family.

You’re not alone in this journey, and there are gentle, effective ways to support lasting change. 🤍

I wanted to share something personal in hopes it may help another family.

My son was recently diagnosed with Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) at 7 years old. Looking back, many of the signs were there early on, but we didn’t yet have the full picture.

As a baby, he had delayed language milestones and mostly grunted to communicate. As a toddler, his vocabulary was limited and he was often hard to understand. In preschool, he had difficulty identifying letters and sounds. In Kindergarten and 1st grade, he struggled with sight word memory and phonics-based reading.

He is now in 2nd grade and his reading gap is starting to close, but that has come with a lot of tutoring, support, and very hard work from him.

Auditory Processing Disorder is not a hearing problem — it is how the brain processes and makes sense of what is heard. Many children with APD are bright, capable, and hardworking, but they often have to work much harder to develop reading, spelling, listening, and memory skills.

My intention in sharing this is simply to help bring awareness. If your child has a history of delayed speech, difficulty with phonics, trouble remembering sight words, following directions, or seems to work much harder than peers to read and spell, it may be worth looking into auditory processing.

Early support, MNRI therapy, tutoring, accomodations, and the right strategies can make an incredible difference. With the right support, these kids absolutely can be successful.

Today is World Autism Awareness Day, and I want to take a moment to honor the incredible children and families I have the privilege of working with every day.

Autism is not something that needs to be “fixed” — it is something to be understood, supported, and respected. Every child experiences the world differently, and my goal is always to help them feel safe in their bodies, confident in their abilities, and successful in their daily lives.

In my practice, I use a holistic approach to support children with autism. My skill set includes reflex integration, sensory regulation strategies, nervous system support, emotional regulation, visual and motor development, and parent education so progress continues at home. I also incorporate energy-based therapies such as Reiki, Emotional Release work, and body-based energy techniques to help support regulation, emotional processing, and overall nervous system balance.

When we support the brain, body, emotions, and energy systems together, we often see improvements in attention, behavior, coordination, sleep, emotional regulation, and learning.

Most importantly, I believe connection comes before correction. When a child feels understood, regulated, and safe, everything else becomes possible.

To all the autism families — I see you, I respect you, and I am honored to be part of your journey. 💙
