Well…water clearly didn’t kill the mood. 🤢😂

Yes—those are two head lice mating underwater.

Head lice can survive underwater for several hours, which is why regular shampooing, bathing or swimming will not eliminate an infestation. Water alone is not a lice treatment!

God owns this business. I just have the privilege of stewarding it. 💛

There are definitely days when running a business feels overwhelming, but then I remember what an incredible blessing it is that I even get to do this.

The Lord took years of experience, something I genuinely love doing, and a heart for helping families and turned it into something I never could have planned on my own.

So when I start carrying the stress of my business, I want to remember that it was never really mine to begin with.

🚨 Your child was exposed to lice. Now what?

First—take a breath. Exposure does not automatically mean your child has lice.

Here’s what to do:

🔎 Check the scalp carefully under bright light, especially behind the ears and at the nape of the neck.

🪳 Look for live bugs. Finding a crawling louse is the clearest confirmation of an active infestation.

🥚 Know what a nit looks like. Nits are firmly attached to one side of the hair shaft and will not brush or flick away like dandruff or product buildup.

👨‍👩‍👧 Check everyone in the household—and continue checking every 2–3 days after a known exposure. Not everyone will necessarily have it.

🚫 Avoid hair-to-hair contact and sharing brushes, hats, hair accessories, towels or anything else that touches the head.

🧹 Don’t panic-clean your entire house! Head lice live on the human head, and the risk of getting lice from floors, furniture or carpets is very small. Focus your attention on the hair—not an exhausting deep clean.

And remember: lice cannot jump or fly. They crawl and spread primarily through direct hair-to-hair contact.

A little update from The Lice Lady & Co. 🤍

Over the past year, this little business has grown in ways I’m incredibly grateful for. One of the biggest changes has been opening my own treatment space here in Lakeland! This is a private, comfortable place where families can come when they need help.

As The Lice Lady & Co. continues to grow, I’m making a small change to my pricing.

Beginning September 1, full lice treatments will be $135 per person.

I’m also simplifying what’s included. All oil needed for your treatment and at-home protocol will now be included in that price, with no additional oil charges.

It’s important to me that families know what they’re paying upfront. I never want someone sitting in my chair worrying about their price increasing because their hair requires more product or a little extra care.

My heart behind this business has always been simple: when a family is dealing with lice, I want them to have somewhere they can come, feel comfortable and cared for, and leave knowing exactly what to do next.
