As many of you know by now, last Friday our shop received the devastating news that our friend and artist, Cristian “Cush” Herrera, had passed away.
Cristian was a light in this world that we rarely get the privilege of knowing. His quirkiness, his sense of humor, his love for the people around him, and his passion for his art left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He will forever hold a place in our hearts.
In support of the Herrera family, is hosting a fundraiser on Sunday, June 14th at 1:00 PM. All proceeds from the event will be donated directly to Cristian’s family.
As a shop, we are taking time to grieve and process this loss. In the coming weeks, we will be meeting as a team to discuss how we would like to honor Cristian’s memory. In the meantime, we have created a collection of memorial t-shirts that are available for purchase online in support of the fundraiser.
There are currently six designs available on our website, each featuring one of Cristian’s flash pieces. One hundred percent of the proceeds will be donated to the Herrera family. These shirts are print-on-demand and will be shipped directly to your home, so they are not currently available for purchase in the shop. Illusiatattoos.com/shop
We also want to thank everyone who has reached out, shared stories, left kind words, and sent photos of their tattoos. Seeing the impact Cristian had on so many lives has meant more than we can express. We are currently gathering photos of his work and memories from those who knew him.
