Happy Father’s Day. Dad’s often feel alone. Build your tribe of like minded men with good habits and show those habits to your kids. Don’t tell them to do stuff. Show them by doing. And when they see others working out, eating healthy, protecting the family and the land then they will do it too. Have fun out there!

The necessary amount of water intake for kids is based on their weight and amount of activity. Teens can often need half a gallon or more of water per day to stay hydrated depending on certain factors. This is best done in day time hours. Staring your day off with a glass of water is great.

"And by virtue of the power, and for the purpose aforesaid, I do order and declare that all persons held as slaves within said designated States, and parts of States, are, and henceforward shall be free; and that the Executive government of the United States, including the military and naval authorities thereof, will recognize and maintain the freedom of said persons."

On June 19, 1865, two years after President Lincoln emancipated enslaved Africans in America, troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas with news of freedom. More than 250,000 African Americans embraced freedom by executive decree in what is known as Juneteenth or Freedom Day.

If you think something is good for you. A new habit. New friends. New job. New business. Start today. Make a plan. Just try things that you know you’ve needed to do but have been putting off. You will mess up. It’s ok. Keep going.

Obviously we are not talking about illegal or unhealthy choices here. Don’t try drugs. Don’t drink. Be safe. Be smart!

Another example of poison ivy growing here in the South this summer and one plant that looks similar. Be aware of your surroundings in the woods and on the edge of wood lines.
