A big thank you to Lamar Bank & Trust Company and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines for the Impact Fund Grant that provided our new vaccine refrigerator! We are so thankful for their help in updating our appliance after our last served a faithful 25 years. Now, we are better able to serve our community and work without risk of appliance failure and lost vaccines!

Our first grant recipient is… Barton County Health Department! ❤️

We are honored to partner with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines to present a $10,000 Member Impact Fund grant to the Barton County Health Department!

This funding will support vaccine storage improvements, helping strengthen the Health Department’s ability to provide important public health services throughout Barton County.

“Our current vaccine refrigerator is nearly 25 years old and has been a line item in our projected budget for the past few years, but never made the final cut. Large expenditures such as this are difficult with tight budgets. Without partners like LBT, this just isn’t possible. It’s a gift not just for the Health Department, but also for the community we serve.”
— Joel Dermott, Administrator, Barton County Health Department

This grant is part of $130,000 being invested in our local communities through LBT’s partnership with FHLB Des Moines’ Member Impact Fund.

We’re proud to help bring funding back home and support projects that make a difference in the communities we proudly serve.

Congratulations, Barton County Health Department! 👏❤️

Missouri's lead levels are incredibly high because of historic mining. It has left Missouri children at risk for lead poisoning, which is harmful to every part of the body.

Children 3 and under should be tested yearly for this very reason.

A Safer School Year Starts With Prepared Adults

As children return to classrooms, sports, programs, and after-school activities, they will spend more time with trusted adults across their communities. Most of these experiences are positive, but child sexual abuse can happen in any community, and prevention cannot rest on children alone.

Adults need the knowledge and confidence to recognize concerning behaviors, reduce opportunities for abuse, and respond when a child needs help.
